🌄 Donna’s Personal Recommendation: A Day in Evergreen, Colorado
If you’d like to experience a true Colorado mountain town without a long drive, I highly recommend visiting Evergreen, Colorado. It’s just 25–35 minutes from the house, and it offers that small-town mountain charm that so many guests fall in love with.
Start your day with a walk around Evergreen Lake – the views are beautiful in every season. Afterward, take some time to wander through the local art galleries and shops in the historic downtown area. It’s the perfect way to soak in Evergreen’s creative, laid-back vibe.
For brunch, one of my favorites is Wildflower Café, a cozy local spot with hearty, delicious breakfast and lunch options. In the evening, treat yourself to Willow Creek Restaurant, which overlooks Evergreen Lake and serves wonderful, upscale dishes with a view.
It’s an easy day trip that feels like a true escape to the mountains – and one I think you’ll really enjoy.
