Vivaldi Holidays Historic house in the center of Palermo

We stayed here as a family and overall had a good experience. The location is excellent and within easy walking distance of many attractions, restaurants and shops. The apartment was clean, spacious and a great size for a family. The host was outstanding throughout our stay – always available via message, quick to respond, and happy to recommend places to eat and advise us on getting around Palermo. He even arranged our transport for us, which made things much easier. We also really appreciated the thoughtful welcome of bottled water and milk. The price is fair and reflects the current condition of the apartment compared with other accommodation in the area.

Unfortunately, we experienced some issues with the air conditioning during an extreme heatwave and local wildfires, so it was an especially difficult time for it to fail. Initially, the host asked me to try adjusting the drainage pipe outside, which I understood as these things can happen. However, he later sent his neighbour to look at it without telling me beforehand. Because of the language barrier, I had no idea who this person was when he arrived, which made us feel a little uneasy. The neighbour himself was very kind and helpful, but better communication from the host would have avoided this. The temporary solution involved collecting the leaking water in large plastic bottles outside, which meant I had to keep emptying them to prevent overflowing. On our final night, at around 3am, the air conditioning began leaking inside both bedrooms. I had to move furniture and our belongings to stop them getting wet and empty the bottles again during the night. Although the host was genuinely apologetic, it did affect the quality of our stay. A few other things to be aware of: the apartment is on a busy street, so there is a lot of traffic noise, especially at night. We also found someone's undergarments inside one of the sofa beds, which was unexpected and should have been picked up during cleaning. Finally, a few minor repairs are needed around the apartment. The handle on one bathroom door was loose, both bathroom door frames felt flimsy, and the shower handle came off and needed reattaching. These are relatively small issues but are worth addressing, particularly for families with young children.

Marco was an amazing host. Checkin was super simple and the accommodation is comfortable and very big, especially the rooms looking like an old palace. Great location next to Capo market and 15’ walking distance from everything, would 100% recommend

Die Wohnung ist groß, mit bequemen Betten, zwei Bädern und Klimaanlage und sehr zentral gelegen. Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt dort sehr genossen! Die Kommunikation mit dem Eigentümer war sehr gut und unkompliziert.

Die Küche ist einfach ausgestattet, aber das war für uns kein Problem, da wir meist außerhalb gegessen haben.

Appartement agréable avec tout le confort requis. L'hôte s'est montré très réactif et a répondu de manière très claire aux questions posées.
