The location is unbeatable and the host communicates clearly and promptly. The room was spotless.

The apartment is right above a popular night spot but the windows keep most of the noise out. The host very graciously placed ear plugs in the room.

I just had the pleasure of staying at San Carlo – Cuore di Palermo mid-August while travelling in Sicily and the experience made me come back for a second time right before my flight back home. The accomodation is perfectly located within Palermo’s Kalsa district, which offers lots of excellent restaurants, bistros and bars for your aperitivo and dining pleasures. At the same time, every major sight is in walking distance (Mercato Ballarò, Quattro Cantri, Cattedrale di Palermo, etc.). The room (I stayed in room Amuri) was exceedingly clean and spacious. The bathroom is built-in, spatially demarcated by glass planes (all sides can be shut and there is also a curtain to be closed, but travel partners not comfortable with each other’s bathroom routines might want to know) and equipped with a rain shower. The bed was wide and the mattress had a good degree of hardness. Although there is a piazza right below the room with several restaurants and bars that are open past midnight, I had no trouble sleeping at any time. On the contrary, the small balcony facing the piazza offered the possibility to enjoy the streetlife throughout the day. The host, Dorotea, contacted me early on with all the necessary information to check-in (she was also very accommodating when my bus arrived sooner than planed and I wished to check-in early) and was always available at short notice.

Was spacious and clean

Didn’t like that we couldn’t keep the aircon on after we left the apartment, didn’t like that we spent 100 Australian dollars a day for breakfast included to find out we can only get some drinks a muffin, cake and a croissant extremely poor. Also in case of an emergency like a fire it is actually hard to get out of your room because you lock the door with the keys, remove the key from The door and put it in the power key hole to turn on all the electricity.
