Rustique Lodge

Location, staff

Lacked a long mirror.

The staff was amazing, with a very warm welcome. We arrived late in the day and left extremely early next morning to go to Horton Plains and we got both coffee on arrival and a freshly made packed breakfast the next morning at 4am. The room is under the roof and is more an apartment with a lounge area and separate bedroom and bathroom. Views over the lakes looked nice (but it was getting dark and was very rainy so couldn't see too far). Location was good at edge of town with restaurants nearby. I would book again, but probably not for just a single night as we didn't make the most of it.

The room is at the top of a long staircase, so will not be suitable for anyone with mobility issues. Also, inside there are a number of steps and levels (in bedroom down to bed, up to bath, back down ... just single steps but possible trip hazard). There was also loud karaoke coming from nearby until late into the night (apparently a frequent thing and the owners are looking into getting that stopped).

The location and the view. Cosy stay, not for single- you will regret bcz it’s a perfect place for couples.

This property was so beautiful that I did not go out exploring the place.
