Bathroom: Bath With Shower Over, Toilet
Second Floor:
Bedroom 3: 2 x Single (3ft) Beds. Gas central heating, underfloor heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Logs for wood burner available locally. Cot and highchair.. Small rear patio. 2 parking permits; one for on road on Compston Street and the other for all SLDC car parks. No smoking. Please note: In an event of an emergency access is available through a fire window on the first floor.. Ambleside is certainly a tourist hot spot due to its central Lakes location, enjoying a fantastic array of specialist shops and excellent facilities for dining out. Cornerstones is situated in the centre of the village, handy for all your holiday needs.

Very convenient location and more spacious than many similar cottages; plenty of room for 4 adults + 2 children. Generally clean and comfortable. There were no black bags left for the bins and laundry despite instructions to use them (although some were delivered when we emailed). I would have expected sufficient toilet rolls, spare small bin liners, and dish-washer tablets for the week. Saucepans have seen better days; dish washer may need servicing. Basic instructions - no holiday information or personal recommendations re restaurants etc., no recycling information.

Lovely cottage and brilliant location for Ambleside. It could be improved by having a proper tumble dryer instead of a washer dryer - which doesn’t really dry anything - for drying out soaking wet Lake District outdoor clothes (it took three days to get anything dry properly after a day of rainy rock climbing). The TV didn’t work and I raised this but no-one ever came to deal with it. The rubbish was overflowing in the back yard when we arrived - would have been nice to arrive to something a bit more “ready” but when we raised it it was dealt with. We never once managed to park on the street but I think that’s to be expected in these central old cottages. That said, those were just minor irritations and we had an amazing holiday. Would definitely recommend this.

Had a lovely week at Cornerstones for Christmas. It did take a while for the house to warm up though. The only other problem we had was parking outside the property, there was never a space in the street. Overall a great time and a lovely cottage.
