La Cala borders Benidorm and it is about 10 min walk to the big Poniente beach which is several km long which in turn borders the Levante beach.
Good bus links are available to these beaches as well as shopping in the Old Town of Benidorm center, the shopping center of La Marina is only about 15 mins walk away away all a few min by bus.
