About this house rental
The Casa dei Gabbiani stands on a small rural house used as an animal shelter, renovated and enlarged in 1986, perched on a cliff. The exterior is in stone, entirely immersed in the Mediterranean scrub. Being inside, the feeling is that of being suspended between the land and the sea. West exposure gives the light until the sun sets behind Enfola or Capraia, depending on the season. On clear days it is possible to see Corsica. Just below the cliff there is the Zuppignano beach, reachable on foot. Other paths start not far from the house, passable on foot or by mountain bike. The North East coast of the island is still very wild and the Casa dei Gabbiani allows you to detach from reality and feel completely immersed in nature.

Nestled in a forest of scrub oaks on a hillside overlooking the Mediterranean, this casa was exquisite ! The artfully decorated cozy interior offered multiple spaces for varied interests-reading, games, conversation, dining. Each room had French doors leading onto the extended terrace and bordering this was a grassy area with trees of flowers...framing the view below of the Mediterranean. The kitchen was very well equipped making it a breeze for any culenary endeavor.
One could easily spend a day relaxing here or venture around the island visiting the neighboring small towns or larger port cities.
The hostess was most accommodating. She made sure we were greeted upon arrival and she was available upon request if we needed any assistance.
This location was excellent ! We found it hard to leave.

We've had a fantastic time with my family in Gabbiani house. The house is well-maintained, while carefully preserving its original design and elements. Perfect layout of rooms, beautiful furniture, pictures on the walls, even plates and utensils fit perfectly together.
The location is wonderful, just like described on the pictures. You get to see stunning sunsets every evening from any room! There are no neighbours besides lizards and gekkos.
The footpath to the beach requires some dexterity and adequate footwear - it's not for everyone. The beach itself is clean, pretty, and not very packed (the room for the boats to anchor is limited). But due to the challenge of climbing, we only went there twice - once on foot, and another time on a boat, which was super easy to rent in Bagnaia.
A couple of minor technical things to note - the washing machine wasn't functioning properly, and there is no range hood over the stove (which makes cooking a bit less fun in the heat). But these were indeed minor, and we've had an truly magical time at the Gabbiani house. Hoping to be back there some day!
