Sunrise - Waterfront home ,lg back waterfront deck. NO LINENS

We've been coming to Chincoteague for years and have stayed in quite a few places here over time. Sunrise is genuinely one of our favorites, and we don't say that lightly. We arrived on a Sunday with the office closed and half-expected the check-in process to be a headache, but it was completely smooth and the hosts were easy to reach throughout the whole trip though we had no reason to. The house itself was spotless when we walked in, beautifully stocked for cooking, and had this really warm, nostalgic atmosphere that's hard to manufacture but immediately noticeable when it's real. The wood-burning stove, the incredible surfboard picnic table on the main deck, the screened gazebo with its fresh new screens and extra seating, all of it just felt considered and cared for in a way that made a real difference. And the view is something we are still talking about. Oyster Bay right out front, Morris Island and Assateague stretching across the water, a steady flow of birds and boats, and that constant background sound of the water that just quietly works on you until you realize your shoulders have dropped and you've been sitting outside for three hours without noticing. Every moment we weren't out exploring town or walking the Assateague shore, we were back outside. We genuinely didn't want to be anywhere else. This place has a lot of heart and it shows. We're already hoping to make it back next year.

Really great location to enjoy the sunrise!

First, the house is located directly bayfront which I didn’t think was clear on the listing so that was a pleasant surprise. The house is spacious enough for a small family of 4-5 with a cozy living area, deck overlooking the bay which is wonderful in the evening. As an honest review, I will say that the bed in the master bedroom is extremely hard and the appliances are dated with the toaster not working properly and the coffee maker rusted. Many lights are burnt out or not working which was disappointing for the gazebo since we couldn’t make use of the space after dark to eat dinner or play games as a family. Overall we had a good time but having stayed on this island multiple times before, this has been my least favorite rental just for the lack of very essential items that other rentals offer. There is a dishwasher, no detergent, no trash bags, no bath mat in the master bathroom or scrubbing pad for the pans. A few alterations would make this a very nice rental.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The good? Location, Location, Location. Located at the end of a quiet neighborhood and on the water. The property is aptly named as the sunrises were beautiful. The not-so-good? Very dated interior. I am convinced the owners don't want you to stay too long as there was not a single piece of comfortable furniture in the house. The primary bedroom's mattress was a bit like sleeping on the picnic table. Be Warned. The Ring cameras were a turn-off as well. I get they are used for security purposes as it is a bit of a remote location at the end of the road, but I am not a fan of feeling like I am being watched while coming and going or while relaxing on the deck. This alone would prevent me from staying at this home in the future, which is a shame, as the location is perfect. Finally, whoever cleaned the house before our arrival didn't do the best job on the floors. I am convinced my vacuum job prior to checkout was better than what they got paid to do. Do better.
