This homes location offers rafting, fly fishing, biking, hiking, mountain climbing, skiing and hot springs minutes from your front door.

Bring your bikes if you feel like a leisure ride along the Arkansas River or a mountain bike if you want to tackle the nearby trails. Such a charming house and awesome location. Close to everything downtown, completely practical for a stay...except for lack of ac in the bedrooms during a heatwave! We love Salida and this location. Understanding that most places in Salida don't need air conditioning often, this place has a package unit in the living room and in the owners bed room. It would have been an unquestioned 10/10 if the bedrooms had an ac unit. Hope to come back soon in cooler weather!

We had a wonderful spring break stay at the cottage. The house is charming and well equipped with everything you need. We were very pleased with the short walk to the grocery, the parks, the river, shopping, and restaurants, with a short 30-minute drive to ski Monarch.The pet-friendly accommodations were very important to us, and our dog appreciated the large yard.We enjoyed sitting on the front porch in the sun. We will definitely return in the fall for hiking.

Salida is one of our happy places and this stay is a treasure! The charm of this historic house was everything and the location can't be beat! We sat on the porch and the kids played at the park across the street, then wandered into town for restaurants shopping and playing by the river. We hope to stay again!

A quick 5 minute walk gets you to the beautiful historic downtown, and a 30 minute drive allows you to be on the ski slopes in no time. Couldn’t ask for anything more! Thank you!

We have stayed in this house at least 3-4 times over the past two years, when we come to ski Monarch. It is always perfectly clean, cozy, and comfortable, with everything we need. The fenced back yard is lovely for our dog, and the park across the street is our kiddo's favorite. We'll keep coming back!

We rented this property because of its proximity to other family members who were vacationing in Salida. This adorable house is located across from a park, and an easy walk in to the quaint town of Salida. We loved the charm of the house and the owners were wonderful! There is a large back yard, which is great when the weather is pleasant.

I am so glad we ended up at this property! It was the absolute PERFECT location. You can walk or bike anywhere you could possibly want to go. The house itself is so cute. The kitchen was fabulous, we’d been camping about a week and I was so ready for a ‘real kitchen’. The yard was wonderful, we played croquet and bbq’d and watched stars and just enjoyed the breeze. Bathroom is new and really nice too. So grateful this is where we ended up.

we had a perfect time in this lovely house in Salida. it was everything we like about coming // staying in Salida - historic feel, nothing overly fancy and everything we needed was there. you know how sometimes, you stay at a place and think "gosh, I wish THIS was in the house", us too ... but here, we never said it once. cozy, comfy, great location. thanks for sharing your place with us and we hope to come back again !!

I was so pleased with my five week stay here. The home is clean, cute, and has absolutely everything you could need. It's obvious the owners care for the place and stay here themselves. They were also quick to respond with any questions I had. My dog and I both loved the back yard - spacious, well maintained, beautiful big trees providing shade and the occasional deer hopping the fence. The location is perfect with shopping and restaurants within easy walking distance and a great Farmer's Market on Saturdays in the park across the street. Salida is also close to so many great areas to hike! I definitely want to return!!

We loved our stay at this home. Despite it's overall small size, it felt incredibly spacious and filled with light. We loved the vintage charm. This home is very comfortable and feels like a true home rather than a sparse vacation rental (which many can be). It has anything you could need for cooking as well as doing laundry, which we really appreciated. It was a great place to stay with our young pup, as well. The yard was perfect for her to run around in and a lovely space on it's own. The home was walkable to everything in downtown Salida which we definitely took advantage of. We would love to stay here again should we find ourselves in the area (which has tons of hiking, mountain biking etc). We know we only just scratched the surface.

Our family enjoyed our stay in this lovely little house tremendously. The house offered plenty of historic charm as well as creature comforts. Beds were comfortable and the kitchen fully functional. The yard provided a great place for our toddler and dog to run around, and hosted local deer as well. The best part of the house for us, however, was the location. It sits right on the edge of a park with a nice playground, and just four or five blocks walk from Salida’s shops, restaurants and the river. We loved exploring Salida, and used it as a base to visit a number of attractions within an hour of town. We’ll definitely be back!

My friends and I had a great time! the sofa sleeper wasn't the best, luckily we didn't mind sharing the beds. Location was fantastic, the place is super cute I would definitely recommend it
