Beginning in 2023, the City of Salida has imposed an increase on the nightly lodging tax from $3.66/room/night to $15/room/night. Unfortunately, this increase is out of our control. We, as hosts, are doing everything we can to impress upon the City of Salida, its leaders and community, that tourism is a vital part of the local economy and should not be unreasonably taxed. The location is great. Shops and restaurants are all in walking distance. The house was neat clean. I would definitely stay there again.

Our stay at Salida Sol was delightful.
The house itself is very comfortable, colorful, light-filled and spacious. Everything you need is provided. Outside, the wrap-around deck provides a wonderful space to enjoy a sunny morning coffee or a quiet evening enjoying the stars, a view of Tenderfoot (S) Mountain and listening to the soft trickle of the creek which passes by the house.
The house is located within an easy walk to downtown Salida while the Monarch Spur Trail takes you to the Arkansas River in minutes.
We would happily stay here again in the future.
The hosts, Caleb and Dan, were helpful and quick to respond while we negotiated a change to our stay.

This property listed a hot tub as a searchable amenity. However on arrival there was no hot tub. I contacted the property owner with the issue and attached a screen shot of the property posting clearly listing a hot tub under the amenities. The property owner did not acknowledge the mistake but continued to assume I made a mistake with booking. I felt this lacked professionalism. Otherwise the property was as stated and we had a comfortable stay.
