If you're looking to expand your horizons and see other nearby locales, you can catch a train at either Venezia Mestre Tram Stop, a short 10-minute walk away, or Venice (XVY-Mestre Rail Station), 11 minutes away.

This is an excellent choice if you wish to experience the convenience of city life whilst remaining close to historical Venezia. The host is friendly and extremely responsive. The night we arrived, we got lost following GPS, and once I described to him a few landmarks, he was quick to arrive and lead us to parking and show us the property personally. Speaking of parking, while the building does not have garage parking attached, it isn't necessary as there exists plenty of street parking around and even a parking lot right across the street. Parking is safe anywhere in Mestre, but I do recommend downloading the AVM app in advance so that you may add minutes to the meter from anywhere as needed. The apartment is just as described, functionally modern and comfortable for even a large group; there were 6 in ours and everyone had their own bedroom. Keep in mind that you will be in downtown Mestre, so expect the hustle and bustle of city life with all its noises. However, once you shut the windows all the noise goes away and you are able to rest. You will want to shut the windows at night to avoid mosquitoes anyway. Travel to Venice via street car is super convenient as the station is only a block away. Taking it from here will put you in Venice in 15 minutes, and you can spend all day taking in the history of Venezia without worrying about parking. Overall, we had a great experience and would stay here again given the opportunity.

Easy and cheap parking across street (though paying for it is a bit convoluted). Close to bus station that gets you to Venice in 15 minutes. Walking distance from Mestre center. Air conditioning units in corridor worked fine but made us sleep with bedroom doors open in the heat wave that we arrived in. Internet connection was basically out of commission.

Our train was delayed out of Rome which had us arriving at 8:20pm. Because it was after 8:00 we were charged a 50 fee. The apartment was as described and was clean and comfortable. We didn’t love the location as it was a bit far from main island Venice. And not speaking Italian was a little bit of a struggle with the transportation system. On a check out day, the cleaner arrived 30 minutes early and while we didn’t have to leave, we felt pressure to leave early. It was otherwise a lovely stay!
