The Initial Sama Serviced Residences

This summer, instead of staying in the Central area or Sentosa like I usually do, I chose a different place because my child was attending a three-week summer camp. The location was perfect. It was only a 5-minute walk to the Singapore Botanic Gardens, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Children’s Garden and the university were also nearby, so the neighborhood was quiet, peaceful, and full of nature. I really enjoyed taking morning and evening walks in the gardens. There were also many nice cafés for brunch, like Park Side and Small Batch. Tanglin Mall was close by too, so it was very convenient for groceries and daily shopping. The building itself is beautiful, with its long emerald-green tiled exterior on the third floor. The swimming pool is also a good size, making it a wonderful place to relax. We stayed in a two-bedroom apartment, and it had everything we needed, including a fully equipped kitchen, a washing machine, and an iron. The furniture was comfortable and stylish, so we felt at home during our stay. Most of all, I am truly grateful to the kind and helpful staff. Ethan at the front desk always responded quickly whenever we needed anything. He was incredibly professional and thoughtful. The general manager, Desmond, also greeted us with a warm smile every day and always made sure we were comfortable. He is an outstanding manager. I truly believe that people like Desmond make Initial Sama an even more special place to stay. Thank you to everyone at Initial Sama for making our three weeks in Singapore so comfortable and memorable. I hope to come back again.

There is a certain aesthetic and feel to the property that transports you out of a the metropolis into a calm, engaging space. Most of the staff, specially the house keeping staff, are extremely sweet and engaging. This being a brand new property, the facilities are, more or less, kept well. The common spaces to work are brilliant. Both the Haven and the area next to the Gym. It almost feels like you have an extra living room space, outside of your bedroom, where you can sit down to work. The area is beautiful. We are right across the Botanical Garden of Singapore, which is a perfect place for an evening stroll. Naseem Road (Billionaire's lane) is right behind you. It is a pleasure to get back to the property and just walk around.

We stayed in 3 different rooms across our stay there (co-incidentally we stayed at the property twice and were circled amongst the same rooms). There was always one things off with each room that we stayed in: - Room 1 on level 3 in Block A - Too compact. This was probably the best of the rooms in the sense that it was laid out well and had a higher floor view of the courtyard. - Room 2 on level 1 in Block C - Nice and big but right on the corridor. The bedroom opened up on to a wall - hence becoming quite suffocating. The bathroom window opened up into the corridor, hence affording no privacy - Room 3 on level 2 in Block A - Windows were shut off so we had no view of the outside as such I know I'm probably being nit-picky - but thought it prudent to point out that everything fell just short of brilliance. Another issue was with some of the equipment - fans were not working properly (which led to us shifting rooms), asked for an iron that had to then be replaced, etc. The coffee machine at The Haven (common area) is merely there for sure. I spent a combined of 15-odd days at The Initial Sama and the coffee machine did not work properly even once. There was always some issue with it. The closest public transport is 10-15 minutes away by foot. In that way, it is not a convenient location if you have to get around the city.

Location too far from Mrts . Housekeeping is understaffed and careless in their work . Although they were extra helpful. The room I stayed was two bed . The crockery wasn’t complete as I guess it must be broken n not replaced . No iron in room , was given after multiple calls . No stand to dry clothes . The property is still in its initial phases
