The 70’s luxury design of the appartment together with the view were like from James Bond as the teens put it! Beautiful views and the sea were a great end for our vacation. The private jetty was a cherry on top of the cake.The property is within a walk distance from the village and the bus runs every 10-20 mins or so. The neighbourhood was calm and as said, the views were amazing. We enjoyed the balcony very much as well. Kitchen was adequate for light lunch preparations. Roberto and Simone were very nice and helpful hosts. Thank you!

Most of the other reviews have commented on the wonderful views from the property and, in particular the balcony, all of which I would echo. There are some additional things about staying here that I think are useful to know. The apartment is at the top of a long hill. The walk down to the town is very pleasant with lovely views down to the sea. The walk back, less so, particularly on a hot day. However, this can be avoided. There is an excellent bus service running every half hour from the town to La Spezia with a stop just beyond the apartment. So for 1.50 Euro you can avoid the sweat. In the summer, this is enhanced by a shuttle bus which runs even more frequently. While cooking facilities are limited in the small kitchen, the local Conad store carries a wide range of products so it's quite easy to create something tasty even within the kitchen's limitations.

Close to the port, with an amaizing view of the Gulf of Poets the apartment is friendly, well-equiped. You need a mosquito repellent. With my friends I spent a relaxing week there.

Roberto has been a fantastic and super helpful host. The Appartement and its location is great, close enough to walk into Porto Venere and far away enough to be calm and relaxing. Access to the sea is possible even when the dock/jetty is not accessible. About Porto Venere, there is just one word to say: Beautiful!

We really enjoyed our stay: the apartment is lovely, clean and comfortable with good air conditioning. The kitchen is small, but well equipped. The view from the balcony is fantastic and we loved swimming from the jetty. The 15” walk to Portovenere is very easy (even if uphill on the way back). Roberto is very kind and helpful. The only surprise was the £60 per week we had to pay to park the car in the car park up the road.

The house felt clean and maintained. We slept on the pull out couch which was pretty comfortable. Private pier was awesome, although we couldn't swim since the water was very rough. Only downside was it was a bit of a walk to the city and any restaurants or shops.

Lovely location & helpful host

We very much enjoyed our stay in Portovenere and this apartment. The best features are the amazing view from the balcony (along with the cool breeze) and the semi-private dock for hanging out and swimming. I recommend water shoes as the coast in this part of Italy is rocky and there are a few urchins. The apartment has an open layout and easy flow. We stayed on the comfortable futon in the living room and our daughter had one of the twin beds in the room. The air conditioners worked well and kept us cool in the evenings. The kitchen is tiny and only has two burners so we kept dinners simple (pasta and salads). It's tight enough that really only one person can fit at a time, but the fridge and dishwasher are new so that's a plus. Roberto (the host) helped us learn how to obtain a multi-day pass so we could park on the street in front of the apartment and anywhere else in Portovenere with a 1.5 euro/hr. rate. As others have stated, there is a bus service too if you prefer. This apartment is about a 5 minute drive outside of the town center and quieter. It's tidy, clean and I highly recommend it to anyone headed to this magical part of Italy!

A nice house with beautiful views of the bay. The jetty below is great but keep in mind it is shared and quite a steep walk to get there. Portovenere is within walking distance, the way back is uphill. The house itself is a bit outdated (such as outdated heaters, some minor repairs, there was only one cracked wine glass (!), Etc ...) and the advertisement may be updated. For example, parking costs twice as much in high season as stated. All in all, a pleasant stay.

Das Positive zuerst (bitte auch Negative lesen): 1. Die Lage ist einfach unglaublich, besonders unsere Wohnung, die einen perfekten Blick auf die Lagune hatte. 2. Der Ort ist schwerer zu erreichen als viele andere, dadurch gab es sogar im Juli angenehm wenig Touristen. 3. Die Natur ist wirklich sonderbar. Unter dem Wassersteg ist relativ schnell tief. Viele Seeigel lassen es nicht zu, auf den Steinen zu laufen, zum Tauchen ist aber wirklich perfekt. Wir haben am Abend sogar einmal einen Kolibri gesehen. Das Negative: 1. Der genannte Parkplatz ist nicht vorhanden, nur ein öffentliche nicht ganz billige Parkplatz. 2. WLAN hatte ständige Probleme die Neustart oder Eingriff vom Besitzer benötigte. Realisiert über Mobilfunkprovider. Geschwindigkeit ist ziemlich schwach. Das Langzeitarbeiten wäre nicht lustig. Zum Mails abrufen aber reicht. Das kann ich genau so mit meiner Flatrate. Also ich halte die Angaben zur WLAN ebenfalls für irreführend und falsch. 3. Die Betten sind unkomfortabel hart. 4. Der Weg zum Meer könnte Problem darstellen für Kinder unter 5 und Senioren über 50 Jahre alt, da recht steinig und uneben. 5. In der Küche platzte das Wasserrohr in der Wand. Also entweder Handwerker mehrere Stunden lang tolerieren oder oder das Wasser selbst vom Boden räumen. 6. Die Reinigung im Bad hat einfach nicht stattgefunden. Habe mit Klopapier auf dem Boden Abstrich genommen - einfach nur ekelhaft. Müsste alles selbst sauber machen. 7. Kommunikationssprache Englisch wurde im Inserat genannt. Besitzer kann zwar Englisch , die Frau die und rein gelassen hatte kann es nicht . Auf Italienisch Erklärungen anzuhören ist lustig am Anfang, ist aber leicht was zu übersehen oder falsch zu verstehen. 8. Summierend 1-7 Punkte ergibt einen eindeutig überteuerten Preis. Ich kann Portovenere als Urlaubsort definitiv empfehlen.

Wir waren über Ostern einen Woche hier und rundum zufrieden. Ruhige Lage mit traumhaftem Blick aufs Meer - wir waren jeden Morgen und Abend auf der Terrasse und haben die Aussicht und die Ruhe genossen. Der Wohn-Essraum ist sehr großzügig, Küche, Schlafzimmer und Bad sind zweckmäßig. Ganz in der Nähe ist die Bushaltestelle (Bus und Zug sind in Cinque-Terre dem Auto absolut vorzuziehen). Die Gegend ist ein Traum zum Wandern - auch wenn die Wanderwege erwartunsgemäß sehr voll waren. Alles in allem: eine rundum zufriedene Woche.

We were a Family of four, and had a great stay in the apartment. The flat is in walking distance from Portovenere, and conveniently placed at the top of the hill right were the long one-way loop ends (so easy to park the car without having to drive the Whole loop). Walking up the hill from Portovenere, it was fantastic to have Direct Access to the sea from the Apartment. We had morning swims there, as well as Whole days Down at the pier. And the view from the balcony was beautiful! The flat was spacious and inviting, With a small Kitchen prepared for simple Cooking (enough for us). Also, Roberto was very helpful in helping us out With arrival and practical arrangements. Though Protovenere is quite small, we had a Nice time in the old town, and by watching the sun set from the Castle. We also enjoyed the local restaurants, like Il Timone. Easy Access to La Spezia and Cinque Terre. Thanks a lot, Roberto, for having us! Br, -Sindre

Spent 4 days in this place, and loved it. Appartment is basic with a tiny kitchen, good beds, functional bathroom and a stunning view from the balcony. Taking a dip in the sea is easy - 1 min. walk down through the private surroundings, and the view of Portovenere further down the coast surprises you. The host is very helpful and answered quickly on questions - both before and during the stay. Location is perfect for walking in Cinque Terre - 15 min. walk to the harbour of Portovenere, and from there the boat to one of the 5 villages in Cinque Terre. Couldn't be better. The village Portovenere itself is definetely a visit worth as well. Not that last time, we'll visit this house.

Die Anlage ist in einem sehr guten Zustand, vom Straßenlärm gut abgeschirmt und sehr ruhig. Die Ferienwohnung entspricht der Beschreibung, ist wunderschön dekoriert und sauber mit einer zweckmäßig eingerichteten Küche sowie Klimaanlage. Das Highlight ist der Balkon mit einem herrlichen Blick auf das Meer und die Insel Palmaria. Die Gegend ist ein Traum und der private Steg ins Meer ein Privileg. Die Innenstadt mit ihren zahlreichen Restaurants, Bars, kleinen Geschäften, Stränden und Sehenswürdigkeiten ist schnell zu Fuß zu erreichen. Wir haben in Portovenere wurderbare Tage verbracht und sind immer noch von diesem Ort total verzaubert. Herzlichen Dank an den netten und hilfsbereiten Vermieter Mr Porcari. Wir kommen sehr gerne zurück!

Der schöne Ausblick, die etwas vom Ortstrubel separierte Lage inmitten eines grünen Hügels, der relativ große Balkon und der "private" Meerzugang sind absolute Pluspunkte dieses Feriendomizils. Die Wohnung ist von der Quadratmeterzahl großzügig, jedoch profitiert hiervon lediglich der Wohn-/Essraum (wirklich großzügig, mit Ausblick, gemütlich), während Küche, Bad und das Schlafzimmer sehr klein sind …. ein typischer Zuschnitt aus den 70er/80er Jahren würde ich sagen. Die Küche ist so klein, dass wir auf häufigeres Kochen verzichtet haben. Die Ausstattung der Küche war befriedigend, mir hat vor allem auch ein wenig Zubehör für einen "schönen Esstisch" (z. B. Tischsets oder eine Tischdecke, ansprechendes Geschirr) gefehlt. Die fehlende Größe des Bades hätte ich bei neuerer Ausstattung eher toleriert. Wie auch in den übrigen Räumen ist auch hier noch sehr vieles von "damals", obwohl gerade im Bad einiges dringend ausgetauscht/erneuert werden müsste (Dusche!!!!, Fliesen). Die Klimaanlage ist ein Segen, während unseres Aufenthaltes war es sehr heiß. Der Meerzugang ist herrlich, bietet aber leider wenig Möglichkeit, sich länger "unten" aufzuhalten, da alles sehr schmal und ohne Schatten ist. Die Wasserqualität war sehr gut und es macht Spaß an den Felsen entlang zu schnorcheln. Der Vermieter war sehr engagiert, stellte den Kontakt frühzeitig her und hat uns einige Tipps für den Aufenthalt gegeben.

Very nicely located apartment with private jetty from which you can swim, snorkel etc. The apartment had everything we needed for our stay in terms of kitchen utilities. Also it had AC which was really nice given this warm summer. Parking space right outside of the apartment was hard to find on the weekend but there is a big public parking space 200 m up the hill were we easily could find a parking space. We were greated in a good way by Robertos friend on site who helped us understand how everything worked and during the week Roberto was really kind on checking up to see that everything was fine. So over all we are more than pleased with our stay in Portovenere.

positif: accueil, situation (magnifique!), ponton (prévoir des chaussons de plongée, c'est mieux!), vue (Golfe des Poètes), parking à proximité, navette de bus juste à coté, proximité de Le Grazié (boulangerie très bonne, épicerie, supermarché...) et de Porto Venere (restos, promenades, bateau pour les 5 terres...) négatif : installation électrique vieillotte, wifi très capricieux, cuisine rudimentaire, airco bruyant dans la chambre (après arrêt...) MAIS dans l'ensemble, c'était vraiment très bien!

My husband and me spend 5 days in Mr. Roberto's beautiful apartment. The flat is arranged very loving and with the flair of the 1970's. We especially liked that the apartment was set up very personal so it felt like visiting friends - we felt like home after 10 minutes already. From the bight living room you can reach a large balcony - the view is breathtaking because of the direct view of the bay (with a bit of luck you can watch dolphines from close up !!) The bay can be reached by outside stairs which lead through a fabulous garden. The quality of the water was good, the access to the water is flat but stony (we recommend to wear bathing sandals). Furthermore there is a platform which was under renewing measures while our stay, but when the wooden deck will be fixed it is certainly perfect to climb down into the deeper water. In the evenings Portovenere invites you with it's bright lights to start a 10-minute walk to the heart of the village. We have nothing to complaint...maybe some more hand towels for the kitchen ;-) We recommend everybody to spend some days there and thank Mr. Roberto that he shares this wonderful place with other people. Thank you

un soggiorno piacevole e bellissimo Abbiamo passato una settimana molte gradevole grazie nelle Cique Terre. Robertoe la sua moglie sono molto flessibili e si adattono ai hospiti: loro hano un vero senso dell'accoglienza e conoscono molto bene i posti dove si puo godere dei intorni senza avere la folla. La casa è ben situata, molto pulita è ben arredata , con una vista superba. L'unica cosa da indacare è l'elettricità un po' vecchia ma Roberto è molto attentivo. A very special place with private access to the sea, in a wonderful landscape. The villa has a superb position and from the terrace you can enjoy a superlative view. Living room is large and comfortable. The house is well equipped and at walking distance from shops and restaurants. I would recommend this magic place absolutely perfect for a couple ( but also three persons) Parking facilities at 20 mt from Home. Surrounding area is phantastic: 5 terre, the village of Portovenere at sunset, Le grazie village. These are a must.

Met most of our requirements in a perfect location

We stayed in this property 20th June to 4th July 2015. We found it to be ideal for us as we were looking for an apartment close to the sea but within walking distance of the town of Portovenere with its ferry connections. The apartment is well equipped as described and has a large living space, functional bathroom and kitchen and an air conditioned bedroom we found very comfortable. The living space opens to a balcony which is larger than evident from the photos and where we spent much time overlooking the activity on the sea between Portovenere and Palmaria island. We used the shared boat deck on occasion for swimming and relaxing in the sun. We hired a car from Pisa airport for the two weeks and found it useful but not essential as there are regular buses to La Spieza or ferries to Monterosso to access the railway network. We visited Genoa by train and Portofino by car, parking in Santa Margherita and catching the ferry. We thoroughly enjoyed this holiday and Roberto was very helpful giving us some great ideas of places to visit (eg. Sestri Levante ) I would recommend this area and this apartment to couples visiting the Italian Riviera. Mark & Julie Redmayne UK
