Refugio Costa Teguise - Lanzarote

Lovely location, away from the noise but close enough to access everything you need.

There was nothing to dislike

We had a lovely stay in Costa Teguise at Raul’s home. As other reviews mention, the accommodation is a room within Raul’s house. It has its own separate bathroom, and access to the bedroom is via an external door. There is also a connecting door to the main house, but this remains locked, so the space feels private. You have exclusive use of the outdoor kitchen and dining area, as well as the garden and pool. Although it was technically out of season, a calima made the first couple of days extremely hot. Raul went out of his way to get the pool ready for us, which we really appreciated. Whenever he needed to access “our” space, he always asked permission and was consistently respectful of our privacy throughout the stay. He also has a very cute dog, Toby, who pops by each day to say hello! Raul doesn’t speak much English, so Google Translate is definitely helpful. That said, communication via WhatsApp was excellent. He gave us great recommendations for things to see and do, and even forwarded official government warnings when a bad storm was approaching, which was very thoughtful. The villa is in a great location — about a 10-minute walk to some excellent restaurants and bars, and a little further on to the beach. The only downside for us was that the bedroom has no window. During the bad weather, when we spent more time inside, it did feel a bit closed in — we affectionately nicknamed it “the cell.” Overall, though, we had a very pleasant stay and appreciated Raul’s kindness and hospitality.

The accommodation has no windows and we did not get a clean all week but I think this was due to miscommunication.
