It's a nice place if you know what to expect and find it.

I have a problem rating this place. The first impression was awful. We spent over an hour looking for the house. Google Maps shows it a few dozen metres away. Besides, it still operates under its old name, and it's a good thing that it was still on the fence, because that helped us find it. There is no house number, nor is it in the address provided by the booking site. No one in the area knew where it was, so we went from house to house. The owner did not answer the phone. Finally, she sent a message. The property looked abandoned. We found the keys, but there was no information as to whether the flat was downstairs or upstairs. We went downstairs – it was a mess, it looked like someone lived there sometimes. We went upstairs, where it looked like it was for rent. This is where the positive part begins. I finally got through to the owner. The room itself was very clean, as were the bathroom and kitchen. After we came back from the shop with our groceries, we found milk and a few eggs in the fridge, which was nice, but it would have been good to know in advance. The very attractive price and private parking are a big advantage if you don't mind the inconveniences I will describe below.

The view of the garden is just a name. The blinds on the window are broken and you can't see any garden. A broken coffee machine and no dishwasher are minor issues. Worse, there are railway tracks under the bedroom window (literally a few metres away) and trains pass by from time to time - fortunately not too often, but also at night and in the morning, so I didn't get any sleep at all. The biggest surprise for me was that the owner informed me at one point that someone would be arriving in the other room that night. I would never have rented this place knowing that I would have to share the bathroom with someone else. At night, we were woken up by the noise of someone entering the room next door, and in the morning I met a naked man at the bathroom door - not very comfortable. What's worse, you can't lock the door to your room, and you know that a stranger is staying next door and you have to share the kitchen and bathroom with them. This is definitely not my standard. If I had known, I would have rented both rooms, but this was not mentioned in the description. That's why, even though it was clean and warm, I gave it such a low rating.

A very enjoyable few days away, staying in good accommodation.

Exactly as I expected. Rooms: bedroom, kitchen, bathroom very clean. Bed Comfortable. Location perfect for getting into the city. Host welcoming. Lots of 'extras': eggs, cereal, bread etc; on hand.

My stay was a room only. No meals were included or indeed available, but this was made clear to me before I booked.

I was surprised by the presence of a railway line a matter of feet away from my bedroom window. The last train I heard was around half past midnight and the trains resumed just after 5am,

Comfortable , clean, and I would stay here again.

It was very clean. It had great facilities and was so comfortable. Private drive behind locked gate. Met by Rebecca, who showed us around. Huge bed with comfortable mattress, quality sheets and pillows. Roamy bathroom and huge kitchen with loads of utensils and appliances. Ideal for longer stay. We only had 1 night but would definitely stay here again.

The property was very clean, bright and comfortable. The owners were very nice and ensured we had everything we needed. The beds were so comfortable and the place even included a little conservatory which was so nice to chill in.

Lovely little secret haven!

The room was immaculate, with really comfy beds and pillows and a gorgeous view. The bathroom was clean and spacious, and there was milk, butter, eggs and bread left out for us in the kitchen along with proper coffee and tea. We took the bus into town which only took 20 minutes total from door to town. There is also a train. We felt very warmly welcomed and despite only staying for one night, it really felt homely. We will definitely be back.

The television didn't work - though this wasn't an issue for us.
