I recently stayed at Top Hill House and had a pleasant experience. The cabin-like vibe is cozy, and the views of Whangarei are pretty lovely. The rooms were tidy and provided a comfortable stay. The hosts were friendly and offered great local tips. It’s a nice spot for a relaxing getaway!

As incredible as it may seem, it comes with a couple of minor quirks, such as water-pipe noises in the bath area and creaky floors along the outdoor hallway. Nevertheless, as previously mentioned, it is consistent with the cabin-like feel.

I like its quietness as it’s on the top of the hill. When I was standing on its platform the view from the top of the hill was stunning. Top hill house has everything that I was expecting. The atmosphere of the house was very welcoming! Love it.

We loved our time at Top Hill House, and will 100% be coming back when we visit Whangarei next.

It was relaxed, there were great amenities, an amazing fire place with tons of firewood set in a communal lounge with comfy couch and chairs. The easy access to all round decks and access to the avo orchard for walking the dog was brilliant too.

The staff and the location were great. We got the whole house yo ourselves.

The TV didn't have the TVNZ app, so I couldn't watch the news.
