I think someone left their underwear & togs in the conservatory to dry - and then forgot them. They were still there when we left. Not belonging to any of us.

Spacious, well equipped motel

A lovely motel with absolutely everything you could need for a comfortable stay. Large open plan room with large double bed, dining table for 4, sofa, and well equipped kitchen area. The bathroom had a combined shower/spa bath. Outside was a lovely balcony area with a table plus seating area. Outside there was a covered communal BBQ area which we used.

A perfect family stay — we will definitely be back!

I loved the room set up for two adults and three kids — the fully functional kitchen with a large fridge/freezer and dishwasher was perfect for our family. The kids enjoyed having Sky TV, and the heat pump kept us comfortable. The hot tub and heated pool were a huge hit too! Great central location, spotless room, and handy extras like extra pillows in each wardrobe.

It was clean and very well appointed with all the amenities you need even the kitchen was fully equipped

The rescue helicopter flies directly over the motel, not something that can be avoided clearly but if you are not in a deep sleep you do hear it and if your in the rooms that are not behind the main building road noises are louder

Overall was a great stay.

Great property, very clean and comfortable

Tiny detail but for three of us we were only given 1 sachet of body wash, shampoo and conditioner so we had to go out and purchase some. And only 1 complimentary biscuit. This didn’t worry us but for a family unit it seemed unusual. In saying that I’d definitely stay here again. It’s the nicest motel I’ve found in Whangarei.

Nice, clean and tidy place.

The rooms are nicely decorated and felt spacious enough. Overall the place has a 'European' flair and you can tell they are making an effort to make it nice for their guests.

A few things could have been better - No blackout curtains in the room so the light comes through the curtains in the morning. Generally in NZ there is a small bit of milk in the fridge for a cup of tea, but there wasn't - we had to go out and find some at a petrol station. (We checked in late at around 9 pm? - we had called ahead to let them know) There was only one packet to make a plunger coffee, so only enough coffee in the morning for one cup each. I thought that wasn't so good especially as we had booked for two nights. The motel is beside the busiest road in Whangarei, and you can hear the traffic. For $240 per night, I thought perhaps a little overpriced overall.
