We had a pleasant stay at the hotel, appreciating the convenient location, friendly service, and comfortable amenities.

I really liked the beautiful setting of the property, how our car was parked close by making it easy to offload and load our belongings, and the helpful and friendly staff. The bed was also very comfortable, which made our stay even more enjoyable.

I didn't like how noisy it was at times, especially in the early mornings, which made it hard to sleep peacefully.

Stale and Filthy

Location was good.

We used rooms 13, 15 and 16. Room 13 had a musty stale smell. The heat pump had a funky smell when used, stroger smell when heating. The bed sheets where synthetic not cotton like the other rooms. This should be advertised as such. The bed cover had visible food or milk crust stains with bite marks on it. The shower door had soap residue on it, like it never got cleaned. This was filthy.

Unpleasant - felt ripped off.

Bland breeze block interior. Not very clean - old stains evident. Very very basic accomodation and waaay overpriced for unloved pokey room. Deffinately NOT one to recommend for price charged @$149. ...unfortunately paid before looking within.

Hi would like a refund especially for Mum. My elderly mum couldn’t use the shower. Was scared she’d slip. So dangerous stepping into it, as it’s a high step into it. Stainless steel on floor with no non slip mats or hand rails etc for support. Not good health and safety. I didn’t shower again after I nearly fell over stepping out of it. What’s up with the sheets? Not sheets as we know. They’re knobbly and hard to sleep in. The owner saw us into room didn’t offer to change rooms as they could see my Mum was elderly. Complimentary coffee tea were low had to ask for more on Saturday. Finger marks stains on sliding door not wiped off. Not a motel I’d recommend. Is it because we booked through booking.com and paid cheaper rate that we get allocated these rooms?? Regards

The accommodation was exceptionally comfortable and well-maintained, feels like home.

We had a very pleasant stay and will definitely return on our next visit to Whangarei. The accommodation was conveniently located, with a clean room, comfortable beds, and strong, warm heat pumps that kept us cozy during the cold night. The hosts were friendly and welcoming. I noticed a few negative reviews on this site, but honestly, I'm not sure what more those guests were expecting—this place was excellent. A+++

Was definately what I was looking for and will stay again

Location is easy to get to. room was as pictured. security cameras around to keep things as secure as possible. I left the room key in the room and only realized it after the office was closed and they were still happy to let me into the room with no additional costs.

Shower pressure was a little lower then what I personally like. Bathroom tap moved when turning it on and off and had to keep readjusting it.

nothing about the stay at the motel was appealing.

We had a standard room for 2 nights. Poor service from staff/owners due to what it seemed was communication difficulties. English was not their 1st or second language. seemed like they did not want to help or assist at all. They will look at you with a quizzical look when we asked. Musty smelling room, no complimentary milk, out of date furniture, old looking and run down room. Old towels, sink no plug, towels 1 each and were short in length and width. furniture was old and warped. lack of utensils, cutlery and plates. made a poor excuse for no laundry room available. Coffee and Tea facilities were empty. When we pointed out all the above they would just look at you blankly. in the end we just gave up. we stayed in 3 different motels during our holiday in the north, this was by far the worst. Zero out of a hundred score. we not going back there again and telling our friends and others of our experience.

I like the easy drive to the Whangarei Hospital which is where I was visiting.

I like having a kitchenette like that one. The toilet is nice and private. The television was clear. I appreciated having a late check in because I travelled 3hrs to the hospital and wasn’t able to check in till late.

The shower hot water was either too hot or cold, it was difficult to get the right temperature. I would like a safety chain on the door. I pushed the kitchen table and chair against it for added security. I would like a small iron and ironing board.

Staying there the night of Scan. Comfortable, clean. Central I could use the road beside it.

Friendly staff member I booked in with. She understood my requirements. A RA Scan to get the key when I arrived to go straight to the room after the scan. Scan was delayed 2 hours got back 4pm from 2pm. I went straight to my room.

Noise from next doors - both sides when they ran their kichen tap. It would have been great to have a 250ml box of milk. The room was reasonably quiet which I asked for. Firm Bed.

Pleasant place to stay. Host was welcoming and very accommodating during our stay. Bed sheets and towels were more than enough and clean. Staff were kind and never had any issue. Rooms were quiet and private as walls are built with bricks and concrete. Heat pump was near new and wasn’t smelly. Great location as it is right off the state highway 1 in Whangarei town, which is very handy to access the CBD. I would definitely return when I’m back in Whangarei.

The room was great, very comfortable and spacious.

She tried to put me in a room I didn't want or booked for. I was told "no visitors make sure no visitors" then when my family came to pick us up their small dog managed to jump out of car and into our room we tried apologizing she pointed her finger at us and said "no, no dogs" I thought that was very abrupt.

Wouldn't stay again, due to owners making us feel uncomfortable and bad communication/host skills.

Owners made us feel like they didn't have want us there and almost never returned our bond cause we didn't have the bond receipt even though we had our room payment receipt and we were only the 2nd or 3rd visitors staying there. Booking into the room was such a hassle especially since we had travelled from afar, both of us from 2 different locations and we could only book in together not one at a time as soon as we arrived. My nephew arrived at 2pm, We booked into our room at 10pm due to this fact we ahd to book in together and my nephew who stayed couldn't drop of his bags or park his car to go to the event we were staying in town for.
