Facilities were good, the apartment was well maintained, and the location was good, close to the City Centre. Hot water was available, and kitchen equipment was available to use.
I was asked to pay a GBP 250 security deposit a few hours BEFORE CHECK-IN, and it wasn't mentioned at the time of booking. I had paid it the following day, and the host who contacted me regarding this said it would be refunded after check-out. We cleaned the entire apartment, checked out, and I sent a message to the host about the security deposit, and he DID NOT RESPOND TO MY MESSAGES. I had to reach out to Booking.com to report the issue, and only then did I get a reply. Thankfully, I paid the deposit via bank transfer, and I had proof of payment. This is HIGHLY unprofessional. They called me twice about the deposit but did not respond to my message requesting a refund. Finally, after 8 days of sending constant reminders, I got the money back.
If anyone is planning to stay here, I would suggest paying only online, so you have proof of payment for the security deposit.
The living room door seemed to have been smashed open, and the washbasin tap was not fixed properly.

Great location, needs some attention
The location was ideal for accessing the centre.
The kitchen was well equipped.
The shower was powerful and easy to use.
We felt safe in the accommodation due to the fact that the front door and door to the corridor were only accessible using the fob.
On arrival, the owner kept in touch well re the check in but the entrance was not as described and was in fact around the corner so his member of staff had to come to look for me.
The bathroom tap moved when you turned it on and there was no toilet roll.
Neither TV worked. One turned on but the signal was intermittent. The other did not turn on.
The living room door and door frame was damaged and looked like it had been locked and smashed open.
We booked the accommodation due to the description being sofa bed as we were two adults and a 14 year old. The sofa was a sofa and not a sofa bed, it was ok for our daughter but we had to find the bedding ourselves as it was not out for us to use nor were we informed where it was. The duvet was bigger than a single but the duvet cover was a single so it was not fit for purpose. There were brown on the duvet.

Excellent for a weekend tourist visit.
There was a bed for my daughter and a sofabed for me, which was quite comfortable. The kitchen was small, but quite satisfactory. The bathroom was beautiful. The WiFi worked perfectly. The walking distance to city center and local transport was perfect. The host replies kindly to questions in the chat.
As the front door opens with a magnetic chip, not a code, it was excellent to be met by the host. The street numbers are not clearly marked, the entrance is not conspicuous, the owners of the apartment house are a different name than the owners of the apartment, so to be sure you found the right house may be puzzling. Once met by the host, everything was perfect.

Everything went smoothly, without a hitch.
The apartment was very easy to reach, the structure was very comfortable. well-made stairs, with a really comfortable elevator.
We loved the area, less than 5 minutes walking distance from TheLight-Sheffield Cinema and Aldi supermarket, and 20 minutes from the station.
Furthermore, the owner accepted our request for an early check-in, upon additional payment.
In the apartment there was practically everything you need, maybe something was missing, but we solved it by going to buy at the Aldi market nearby.
The bathroom was complete and comfortable, as was the bedroom and the kitchen, although some small details in the bedroom could be improved and some appliances in the kitchen could be implemented. The living room was a real gem, simple and welcoming.
We will definitely book the apartment again for our next stay in the city.
The bed should be changed, it wasn't bad, but it can definitely be improved, to allow for a more optimal sleep, perhaps by adding an appropriate wide slatted base.
The table and the chairs in the living room were decent, although one of them needed replacing.
The microwave could not be used, it seemed to be of rather low quality.
The windows were a bit uncomfortable, both day and night, we had to lower the curtain all the way down otherwise the two rooms were visible from the outside. it would be convenient to cover the lower part of the window, so as to be able to keep the curtain up and let a bit of sun in during the day and to enjoy a sunset.

Horrific Experience — Unsafe for Children, Host Was Aggressive and Threatening
I would give zero stars if I could. This was by far the most stressful and unprofessional stay I have ever had — especially dangerous for families with young children.
The apartment was advertised as having a washing machine — it did not. That alone is a breach of Booking.com's listing policy. What existed was a shared, coin-operated machine on a different floor, which was never mentioned in the listing.
But the real horror began when my 2-year-old accidentally locked herself inside the living room while I briefly stepped into the kitchen. I was stunned to discover that the host had not provided the keys to the inner doors — only the main entrance key. In an emergency, I had no way of reaching my child. I contacted the host, who showed up nearly 30 minutes later — and he also didn’t have the keys. He then casually informed me they were in Bradford, hours away!
To make things worse, he called a locksmith and tried to force me to pay £80, even though the situation was clearly caused by his own negligence. I paid £40 out of goodwill. Still, he continued to harass me, making repeated attempts to recover the remaining cost by falsely demanding £28 per night for a child — even though the listing allows 3 adults, no extra bed was requested or provided, and no such policy exists regarding children.
It got worse: the host became aggressive, threatening eviction, and even made xenophobic remarks, including “This is not Nigeria,” which was completely uncalled for, offensive, and discriminatory.
What was supposed to be a restful stay became a source of constant anxiety. I had to wake intermittently throughout the night, fearing yet another hostile message from the host. I was mentally exhausted, unable to rest, and completely drained by the experience.
The apartment is not family-safe, and the host is the most unprofessional, manipulative, and threatening individual I’ve ever dealt with on any platform.
Do NOT book this place.
