Mountain Breeze Villa & Ayurveda Spa

Absolutely everything. The location was fantastic- the scenery was beautiful and the nature was amazing ( many types of birds present including woodpeckers, kingfishers, peacocks and so much more.There were monkeys,a family of mongooses living opposite, palm squirrels and buffalo in the paddy fields.We eat breakfast and almost all of our evening meals at the villa … much of it seasonally local grown produce - always delicious . The view from the table we took our meals from on the upper balcony was beautiful.The room and the whole villa was wonderful and a TV was bought just before our arrival so we could watch the fifa world cup. Nothing was too much trouble for our host and his family . We travelled into Ella on the morning train after breakfast on many days ( only two minutes walk to a lovely little train platform ) which travelled over the 9 arch bridge…. what a fantastic start to the day. We returned sometimes by train and other times by bus or tuk tuk which were also great fun . There are superb walks with fairly gentle gradients around the property including two special walks that go up through tea plantations with unbelievable views of the surrounding area . We caught the bus to the town of Badulla on other days after walking access a little bridge over a stunning little rock filled river to the bus stop ( we where shown the best place to access and bathe at this river. There is a very important serene Buddhist temple at Badulla and the town proved to be great for clothes shopping. There was also an amazing Buddhist temple looking over Ella that we visited with the owner who turned out to be a great guide. He took us many places during our stay including a local waterfall which few people other than the locals visit . Ella itself was fabulous just like we had hoped it would be. Another thing we found really special was the local ayurvedic village Doctor whose practice was one minute walk behind the property.

The hosts were amazing and so friendly and the meals were delicious.

A little tricky to find due to the name being similar to other places but once you get there you will not be disappointed.

Vriendelijke hosts, schone kamers, goed ontbijt en mooi uitzicht.

Niets.

Fijne plek met prachtig uitzicht over rijstvelden. vlakbij Ella. Super uitgebreid en lekker ontbijt! De eigenaar weet veel van de omgeving, je kan hem alles vragen! Auto wilde s’morgens niet starten, de eigenaar bood direct aan om hulp aannam het probleem op te lossen.

Het mooie uitzicht, en het goede ontbijt.
