There is so much to appreciate about this apartment. First, it is conveniently located for people traveling by train who want proximity to the sights of historic and architectural interest in the old town. Next, sitting at the top of a traditional timbered building, it has a renovated, well-designed and charming interior with exposed wooden beams and an aesthetically pleasing decor. The bed, a sofa bed, has an amazingly comfortable mattress. Windows on both sides of the apartment afford a generous amount of cross-ventilation. I loved the look and design of the very well-equipped kitchen, which was a pleasure to use, and the bathroom is also quite nice, with a modern shower and lots of hot water. One of the very best features of this apartment is that it is so very quiet: overlooking an inner courtyard, you do not hear any sounds from the busy street in front of the building. Finally, the person in charge, Maxime, is courteous and conscientious about responding to messages.

There were a few housekeeping slip-ups which I was able to either ignore or rectify on my own. These things can easily be remedied for future travelers. If you have mobility problems, you should know that the steep spiral staircase might pose challenges.
