Fabulous stay

Extremely comfortable and cosy. Lots of extra touches, ground coffee, fresh milk, plenty of firewood. Excellent continental breakfast. Welcoming owner. Pub and shop next door. Carsington water in walking distance.

Nothing. We had two of the three bedrooms, the other guests were out for the evening, so we were able to enjoy the cosy lounge by ourselves.

Lovely accommodation in a beautiful village. We had everything we needed. Our hostess was there to greet us and she went the extra mile. Breakfast was superb. The pub next door was like stepping back in time! There was also a village shop adjoining the property.

Lovely quiet stone cottage B&B

Lovely quiet stone cottage B&B - very welcoming host Sara, cosy fire in the sitting room & delicious continental breakfast with fresh fruit, pastries & bread. Fantastic to hear BBC Radio 3 Unwind quietly at breakfast. Handy for Tissington, South Peak District and walking at Carsington reservoir (from the door). Thank you and hope to be back.

Little Gem !

Beautiful cosy room with comfy bed , breakfast was continental and plenty of choice with fresh fruits ,yogurt and croissants or toast to help yourself ....Sara the host is such a delightfully friendly person and always there to help .....the village is like going back in time with a great village community shop right next door to the stables .....would highly recommend a visit to Kirk Ireton and The Stables

Luxurious bedroom and bathroom in a beautiful old stone cottage. Lots of extras provided, including bubble bath, books, tea tray and fresh milk. Generous continental breakfast included. Although there is a pub next door, there was no noise at night, even on a Friday.

A beautiful room in a beautiful place

The breakfast was exceptional! We had expected a small continental breakfast of perhaps a croissant and piece of cheese, but instead there was a beautiful spread of delicious fresh pastries, sliced fruits, muesli, yoghurt, different breads for toast, as well as fresh fruit juice and coffee. Delightful! The room was spacious and so clean, the bed was super comfortable and the shower was strong and hot.

Everything was great! The road to get to Kirk Ireton is a bit of a nightmare, but that's nobody's fault!

High quality tastefully appointed accommodation in quiet village handy for Peak District locations

Our room was large, comfortable and quiet. Extremely airy due to high ceiling. Newly fitted bathroom. Everything scrupulously clean. The quality of all fixtures, fittings and toiletries was very high. Breakfast was plentiful, varied and also of high quality. Sara was the perfect host!

Fantastic, well run house in a beautiful village - just plan ahead for food!

Owner was lovely, very clean, comfy bed and a great breakfast.

Would have been useful to know that there's nowhere to eat nearby (pub not open every day, and shop has very limited hours). After long work day, ended up going without any food until morning. (But that's an advertising matter - no slight upon the property).

Lovely village setting on the doorstep to Derbyshire popular sights

Located in a small village, there was definitely a sense of community there. Sara the owner, met us on arrival and was very helpful. The room we were in (deluxe) was light, airy and clean. Breakfast was of continental style, but there was a good selection. Good location for visiting Matlock and other Derbyshire hotspots, as well as the steam train station based at Wirksworth (10 mins away).

Situated right next to the pub and community shop, was a little noisy at times with people coming and going. In the bathroom, The shower, didn’t have much in the way of water pressure, but the owner was aware of this. The sink was also restricted, having a large bathroom cabinet over it. A smaller flat mirror would have been a better option, thereby giving much better access to the sink.

Breakfast was continental. There was a great choice of cereal, fruit, toast and pastries. With as much juice and tea or coffee as you wished. We were made to feel very welcome. The accommodation was extremely comfortable and nothing was too much trouble for our hostess.

This B&B is tucked away in a charming little village, offering a peaceful retreat. It’s close to a friendly pub that sometimes serves dinner, making it a great spot for a cosy evening. Parking is on the road outside the property, so you can easily get in and out. The room was spacious, clean, and modern, with everything you need to make your stay comfortable.

The host Sara was just gracious and kind. She meet our every need. Wonderful Continental breakfast. It is a very beautiful historic bed and breakfast but modernized in areas for comfort. We will definitely stay there again when we return to UK. Just an absolutely beautiful Village.

There were no restaurants within walking distance. But Uber is quick to respond and take you where you need to go.

Sara was very welcoming and knowledgeable about the area. The cottage was well presented and we really liked the decor and the design matched the age of the property perfectly. It was immaculate and comfortable. Breakfast was very good in the morning. We’d give it 10/10 and would definitely return. We also loved the fact that it turned out to be next to one of our favourite pubs.
