Good for budget and near-central location compared to competitors, but don't expect much else.

Location was quite good for the city centre shopping area but is a 20 minute trek from the train station. Overall cleanliness was good.

Description of my room was misleading, including en suite bathroom and private kitchen, and photos accompanying it to reinforce that idea. Truth was that it was a pokey single bedroom with a shared bathroom and shared kitchen. Furthermore, the bathroom and kitchen are on the opposite side of the property. The sound-proofing was not adequate, with the amateurish singing from the next room emanating through the walls well up until 2 in the morning. Digital door locks were a bit tricky to work as the numbers are not initially visible.

Easier communication with staff as no one on site and the contact phone number was not answered so everything was by text The sound proofing between rooms was not good so there was a lot of noise transfer at night

Perfect location for the red funnel ferries exactly what I needed. I arrived quite late but the instructions were very clear and the digital locks were easy to use, a lovely clean comfy bed, the place was clean and tidy, lovely shower, warm and good value for money. What more could you ask for!

Wouldn’t stay again unless I didn’t require parking.

- Property was clean & well kept. - Shower mat provided & lovely big towels. - Location was great for town centre.

- Parking; advertised then on the day receive the information that’s its first come first served. Arrived & 2 other cars had selfishly parked so ended up worrying about my car all weekend being parked in WestQuay as on the road parking states no longer than 4 hours stay & didn’t want to chance it not knowing the area. - No hairdryer or toiletries provided except hand soap. - Shower pressure was shocking no matter the time of day & it was definitely turned on at the switch - WiFi wasn’t the greatest & my phone network suffered for signal/5G but my partners was fine so depends on network for signal.

Great spot for a quick stay prior to cruising.

Great location for a short stay prior to boarding a ship at the Ocean Terminal. The bathroom looks newly remodeled.

This is my fault for not checking beforehand but I had some big luggage and there's no elevator at the Juniper Berry. I got my things upstairs but after a long flight from the US and then a bus ride from London, dragging my suitcases upstairs did me in.

They cancelled on day of arrival

Such a shame as we have stayed before and return to stay with them again but at 11.45 on check in day got a message to say accommodation couldn't accommodate us now and to stay at a diff hotel but this was 20 mins away so not suitable couldn't get hold of the accommodation by email or telephone just really poor

The fact there was no TV was a surprise and it wasn't a king bed, it was two beds put together and not comfortable.

Nice place.

Lovely, huge room. Very clean and functional. Shower was large and nice. Communication between owners and myself was quick and helpful. Value for money and location was perfect for getting into key parts of City. Keypads for all doors (press pad, wait 2-3 secs before it shows all numbers).

This is somewhat minor but should be explained. There's free parking on the tarmac outside the property. Space for 3-4 cars. And in front of this tarmac there is some on-road parking (public - pay and display area). I got lucky and got a free spot but could have easily been different. If the P&D spots are all taken, then access to tarmac can be difficult. They effectively block full access to the free parking. You may struggle to get large vehicle on tarmac depending on how others have parked.

Really quirky, pleasant stay.

The decor was really nice, a comfortable sofa and a well dressed bed, There was room enough for two. A nice equipped kitchen and dining table and chairs.

Fabulous location, room was good size but house keeping needs a good look at

Central position, and room was a good size

Once we were able to enter, after a few failed attempts , as we were denied access a few times, I even phoned the number given left a message for someone to phone me as we couldn’t enter. not one person phoned me back to make sure we actually got into the property. Thankfully we eventually were able to get into the room, but extremely poor no one has responded to my phone call. The room had been cleaned as bathroom was clean, however bedding and a towel was stained. Mattress was old and lumpy

Found used chewing gum on head board & bed side table. Entry key pads not easy & so loud. Have to carry luggage up steep steps. No sound proofing, can hear other rooms talking,snoring, shouting etc.. zero communication with owners back when message before & during stay. Assume there is no parking as tiny bit of tarmac always full.

For a very last minute look for a place to stay this was very nice! Clean, comfy bed, the toilet and shower were nice, quite noisy but that can be expected in an area so close to town, the building itself looks very cool as well! Worth it for the money

Convenient location and lovely historic building.

Great location and the building was historic. It is a guest house, so there are no frills, our room had a small double bed with clean linen, a chair, along with a small but perfectly formed ensuite that functioned as required. The electric shower was very good.

We requested for an iron and hairdryer as we had a function to attend, that was delivered as requested although the hairdryer was useless as it had a European plug so couldn’t be used. That aside I was pleased that they did bring the iron and an ironing board to the room.

Great location.

Quite difficult to figure out how to use the entrance codes. Having figured it out, I helped a number of other people with the same problem arriving. I stayed two nights. It was good, but a bit disappointed that the bulb was not working in the bedside light and it was promised to be changed the next day and wasn’t. Also, the toilet seat was not properly attached.

Kitchen was super dirty and sticky on all surfaces, even the tap handle. Obviously hasn't been cleaned in weeks. Communication is a disaster. Have been asking for the invoice for weeks, didn't even get a response. So don't go there if you need the invoice on a business trip.

Didn't realise at time of booking no tv in room and did find kitchen and dinning area until the morning Didn't think to look around assumed kitchen bit was in room then see it was on same sign for the other rooms Maybe put something in the rooms 1 to 10 to say kitchen and dinning area with tv in the other side We was in room 1 and the drainpipe outside was dripping but music on low and couldn't hear it Maybe some astro turf and something to sit on outside on the veranda

Don’t stay here.

Nothing in the facilities it says free parking there is non. It used to be a pub but they are now flats and the owners of them take up any free parking.

The residents of the flats below don’t look friendly half dressed and smoke outside most of the time I would not like to leave my car in this area. The main door looks like a night club entrance. We arrived early from the cruise looked around and didn’t stay and the messages you get back from the owner don’t make sense. We cancelled there and then but no refund coming so wouldn’t recommend this to anyone and I am a seasoned traveller.

What we got was different from what we thought we were getting. We were told we were being upgraded since the room we book had some damage from a previous client and wasn't yet fixed. As far as I was concerned this was no upgrade. It had somewhat of a kitchen which we didn't need since it was a 1 night stay. There was a small square table with hard wood chairs for dining but no other chairs in the room to sit on. The bed was small and not to my liking but that certainly could be a personal choice. The door to the room did not lock, big problem.1 set of towels for 2 people, which might be a european thing but I expect at least 2 sets for 2 people. Overall, location was great but I was happy it was only a 1 night stay.
