Remarkables View - Te Aroha Retreat

The view was amazing and why we chose to book it. The apartment was well sized for our family and very comfortable. Kitchen and bathroom were well equipped.

We found one of the three bedrooms and the living room to be quite cold in winter, there is only one heater in the living room especially and it is unable to heat up the entire room, which isn’t helped by the fact that the living room has no blinds nor curtains. Like the reviewer before us, we also found the communication confusing as the host on booking.com will direct you to the owner with a separate number to contact. The wifi information provided via booking.com and the guest info in the apartment was indeed inaccurate and should be updated.

The views are absolutely stunning and the apartment is warm, spacious and comfortable. Parking was easy, the couches were very comfortable, the kitchen was well equipped, and there was reliable hot water with good shower pressure. Overall, it was a relaxing place to stay in a fantastic location.

The linen and overall presentation could be improved. Professionally laundered linen and lighter-coloured bedding and towels would provide greater confidence for guests, and we found it unusual that there was no top sheet. A little more attention to detail with cleaning would also make a big difference. The stairs from the parking area may be difficult for guests with heavy luggage or limited mobility, and the stairs and deck became very slippery during our winter stay. The lounge would benefit from blinds or curtains to improve privacy, particularly as the deck is shared with the neighbouring apartment, and to help retain warmth. The WiFi details displayed on the wall were out of date, and a guest information folder with emergency information, local recommendations and useful property information would be a valuable addition. Communication was friendly, but some of the information was a little confusing at times, including the two different cell phone numbers.
