Sierra Views - Queenstown Holiday Home

This was a perfect base for us to explore the region. Then in the morning and at night you have the incredible views to take in. Having three bedrooms each with their own bathroom is ideal for several couples or families with older children. Parking right outside the front door is handy.

All bins were full when we arrived. Table seating for 6 not 4 would have been better.

The view was absolutely stunning. the property was nice, clean & comfortable. There was enough & more space for a family of five.

Everything was really good but it got quite warm inside the house & the two fans provided weren’t really enough. On one of the days it was almost 30 degrees outside, so having an air conditioner would have been fantastic.

We paid $3200 NZ for 5 winter days, 4 winter nights of COLD water and room temperatures at 18C. The radiators are set to work centrally and fed by a faulty boiler. The boiler should also send hot water to showers. NO hot water! We aren’t into ice-water bathing in summertime, let alone in winter! We selected this place as we thought grandma would enjoy the stunning views while we were out as she is in a wheelchair. She was cold the entire time. The view was nice but she wanted to leave from the cold!! We wrapped her in blankets but this was not ideal. I contacted Bach care on day 2 and they told me how to reset the boiler however by day 3-4 we realised that this needed to be done hourly! We were there to explore Queenstown and surrounds, not sit by a boiler to reset it. Grandma obviously couldn’t get down the 20 stairs to reach the boiler to reset it while we were out. In the mornings we would wake up frozen! On day 4 the caretakers wanted us to hang around and wait for a technician to fix it. As we were leaving the next day, we declined the temptation of waiting around for the techie and went to Queenstown. Caretakers need to make sure there is at least hot running water in their units and NOT on my time. This wasn’t the ideal way to end our family trip to NZ!
