Badgers House - 6 Bedrooms, Sleeps 13, Parking, Wifi

Very clean. Lots of space for a group of 9 friends. Great location for visiting Avebury and other local attractions. Bus stop at the end of the road was especially handy to avoid the difficulty and expense of parking in Avebury. The nearby White Hart pub just 5 mins walk away was good for food. Woods at the back of the house good for dog walking.

Beds were not so comfortable with thin mattresses. Shame about the artificial grass in the back garden. A larger frying pan would have been useful.

Location. Size. Comfortable. Walks in nature reserves over the road. Nearness to Avebury. Good pubs and Indian takeaway in 5 minutes walk.

This is a lovely house - spacious and good communal areas. Like the fact there are two lounge areas and also the large kitchen diner and a good sized separate utility room. Well equipped with sufficient cutlery and plates / glasses etc although if you were 14 people you'd need to wash up after every meal. Apart from a corkscrew, good range of saucepans and utensils and large range including a griddle plate so really flexible cooking options. Large fridge freezer. Self catering was easy. Nice location on edge of estate with brook and fields beyond. Walking distance to a fabulous thatched pub in the village. Feels rural yet so close to Swindon for shops etc. Park for one car on drive in front of double garage and could park a couple on the gravel area in front of house. All bedrooms a good size - especially liked the master bedroom on first floor with ensuite and fitted wardrobes with iron, ironing board and hairdryer.

There were a number of issues with appliances - neither the dishwasher or washing machine worked (reported and we were told this would be fixed within 48 hours (we only stayed for a weekend so don't know if this was done). The toilet cistern in the main bathroom also wasn't filling so had to find a bucket to flush (again reported and should now be fixed) and toilet roll supplies were not very generous! Most bedroom didn't have bedside lamps which would have been nice.

Lovely sized home, well laid out and perfect for a big group of friends or family. Plenty of car parking and great access to local walks around the nature reserve. Nice clean bedding with lovely big fluffy towels.

There was a lot of dust on bedframes and generally on surfaces throughout. Old cigarette butts on the patio outside. None of us smoke so these havent been cleaned up from previous guests. Washing machine doesn't work. Dishwasher hard to open as front panel isn’t fitted. Tumble dryer poorly maintained and filthy. Vax vacuum cleaner is also very dirty and ineffective. Mould on the ceiling of bedroom with map wallpaper. Toilet in the main bathroom didn't flush. A bit of money could make the house really special!
