Clean property and located close to beach
Misleading listing states ‘private bathroom
‘ and ‘private toilet’ when in fact it was actually two floors down n not at all private, secure or convenient. The apartment block itself appears to be being used as some sort of HMO emergency housing, with a string smell of cigarettes and cannabis and food and personal items left discarded in communal stairwell. Neighbouring properties are boarded and shuttered up and a police car was parked outside most nights also.
On self check in as a solo female traveller I already didn’t feel safe and like I couldn’t use the facilities safely, then was just unpacking and another guest walked in my room as we had been double booked.
There was no assistance offered and my concerns of security were then down played by the host. I had no way of locking my door from inside so barricaded the door with my belongings to try sleep.
There was no light bulb in the lamp, and kitchen utensils were limited I went out and bought my own wine glasses.

i have stayed here previously, so i new what to expect, for the price you cannot go wrong.
There was a little problem with the electrics, but the hosts dealt with it straight away, and their management company were on site very quickly.

The room was clean and fine for a budget stay.
When we arrived we were surprised to find that our private bathroom was a floor down and access was via a code. It was freezing cold and only hand soap was provided. I think it needs to be clearer that the bathroom isn’t part of the apartment and you have to go down steps to go to the loo in the middle of the night.
The kitchenette was clean but we were only provided with two tea bags, two sachets of coffee, two sachets of sugar and two sachets of milk for a two night stay! We did appreciate the washing up liquid, sponge and cloth though. The wardrobe had three hangers which also wasn’t ideal.
Another issue we had was that the tv was near the kitchen area so you can’t watch tv from bed. Internet seemed to work fine and luckily we brought a laptop to watch movies.
The room was super sparse and it felt like sleeping in a giant cold kitchen - it really could have used some love - like a rug and a fake plant or something to make it less clinical.
The walls were very thin - we could hear the man across the hallway snoring!
Location is great as we wanted to be near saltburn.
One of the most concerning things was writing on the wall above my side of the bed in red ink - we actually hadn’t noticed it the first night but it almost looked as though it said “raped”! Which obviously freaked me out a little.
Next time we will pay more for something that feels cosy and safer. This was a budget stay for the new year and it out a negative spin on an otherwise nice holiday.

Really nice size and neat apartment. We were pleasantly surprised and thankfully we booked the room with the private bathroom

Upon arrival we got through the front door all OK. Found our room no.3 put our code in and it was already occupied by a young lady. We rang customer service and told me I was in wrong building (we wasn't!) We stood in hallway for about 15 mins until she rang me back to give me a code for a room upstairs (I'd asked for ground floor room upon booking as I'm awaiting a hip replacement) finally got in our room at almost 10pm after long drive. It was clean but smelled of curry. We had 1 paper thin pillow each so I called back for more pillows she said she would send some the following day, fortunately outside my room was a large linen box so helped myself to 2 spare pillows with cases.
Our stay was OK a lot of people in and out the building, bed was a small double.
MY WORST COMPLAINT IS I STILL HAVNT RECEIVED MY £100 DAMAGE DEPOSIT ALMOST 4 WEEKS LATER DESPITE ASKING BOOKING.COM AND THE OWNER OF THE PROPERTY. I WONT STAY HERE AGAIN

no breakfast could of done with a small settee wifi not very good the back yard could of done with weeding the pics of the back yard were decieving my family came to see me only 3 or 4 chairs needs a small settee i would change the wifi contract very weak kept cutting out it was a clean building maybe put outside table and chairs in the back yard in the summer needs a good weeding

The place was very close to beach convenient for local pub and shop accommodation basic but comfortable and clean comfy bed not sure about using shower and toilet down stairs but got used to it on the whole very good value for money and redcar was lovely an underrated place by people but I found it an enjoyable break and plenty to do. The Choatham side was beautiful.

The room was a good comfortable size and clean (apart from sink problem -see below). The location was good near sea (side sea view from front window) . Good to have apartment type kitchen facilities and en-suite.
Access to the property was a nightmare. I 'messaged the property the day before arrival from the Booking.com web page saying with an eta of 7-8pm and that I hadn't heard from them did I need a key code etc. No response! On arrival at the property I saw the keypad on the door but we hadn't been given any info. I knocked on the door for some sometime - no answer. I researched my emails from Booking.com to make sure hadn't missed anything. Found a contact no for the property 447803561307 on email of 25/7 rang this but got a complete rubbish message. now outside for10-15 mins without being able to make contact. Eventually another guest couple came out. They told us you need to have the Booking.com app on your phone to get contact. This is NOT made clear anywhere. eventually got this down loaded. Two options contact via phone or message. Tried phone several times but kept getting line busy. The message option said I hadn't got a booking so wouldn't let me use it UGH!!! Finally got a call from them and was sent a WhatsApp with codes and other info. Got in after half hour or so after arrival. Such a pity as the room was good. I WhatsApp this complaint back but so far no response.
Another problem of note was that the sink was completely blocked , a plate missing and lost hot water in bathroom. I reported this the 1st morning. Someone was sent round in the day. They sorted the plate and bathroom hot water but swapped dirty water for clean water in the sink but did not sort. This was still a problem when we left after 3 nights stay

There was no vacuum cleaner and washing machine as was advertised. there was no communal lounge where all visitors could just chill out. Nice snooker area would have been perfect

The apartment which I booked had another tenant in and after complaining we were offered another room . It was cold not very clean and only had hard dining chairs to sit on .

We were accused of smoking in our room when we definitely didnt and llost 6 nights of our holiday with no returned money !!!!! Its disgusting
