Lovely location, epic views and great staff.

The location was fabulous. Just far enough away to be peaceful, but the buggy service was necessary as it’s a steep climb back. Wonderful staff who really go the extra mile to make your trip lovely.

1. No running hot water in the wash bowl is not practical. We had to complain (which they handled well) and received a bowl that we could fill from the shower. At this level that is not really acceptable. 2. Thought breakfast was a bit parsimonious ie limited to 1 cup of coffee or 1/2 a glass of juice.

A perfect place to stay for any couple

We Can’t recommend this place highly enough from the moment we arrived the staff were friendly, polite, attentive and helpful. The villas themselves are lovely and really well thought out and the free shuttle by the staff to and from town means the location is perfect. Breakfast is included and there’s a nice range of choices, all of which were delicious. To sum up - an incredible place to stay and we’d gladly go back.

Not All That Glitters Is Gold

Despite being partially screened by neighboring accommodations, our villa offered a nice design and lovely views. The highlight was our private pool—perfect for relaxing after exploring. The comfortable bed and well-stocked shower with quality toiletries enhanced our comfort inside. The staff truly distinguished themselves with their warmth and attentiveness, consistently going above and beyond to ensure a memorable stay. We particularly appreciated the convenient, complimentary golf-cart transportation service (though it's only until 9 PM), which perfectly addressed the location's positioning. We enjoyed the breakfast, with three distinct menu options offering remarkable variety and quality.

Our honeymoon at Secret Garden Eco Pool Villa was so disappointing we left after 2 of our 4 planned nights. The property sits on an extremely steep hill that even their golf carts can't fully access, requiring difficult uphill walks to rooms—completely unsuitable for anyone with mobility issues. Located 20 minutes from town with no taxi access to the complex itself, guests are effectively stranded. Cleanliness was poor—garbage bins without liners and breakfast waste left on floors for hours. Poorly sealed windows and doors without screens allowed cockroaches, mosquitoes, and geckos free entry. The "beautiful" open shower created constantly wet floors while connecting directly to the outdoors, ensuring bugs were ever-present. Privacy was non-existent with staff visible through bedroom windows while we slept or dressed. Pool cleaning happened at 9:30 AM regardless of occupancy, construction noise was constant, and the bathroom vent was extremely loud. Essential amenities were absent—no slippers, chairs, tables, luggage storage (suitcases sat on wet shower deck floor), or mosquito netting. Service failures included late breakfasts, no indoor dining during rain, unreliable transportation, and unannounced power outages. Management acknowledged these issues and approved our early departure with partial refund.

Loved our stay at this spot!

Location was perfect, out of the bustle of town but within a short walk/ride. And high up enough on the hillside to catch the evening breeze! Eating breakfast by our pool looking out at the beautiful view was really something special. The owner was very friendly, as were the staff especially Joe who was an awesome help whenever we needed a ride, some ice, etc etc.

Kind of steep driveway, not an issue for us but I’d say not accessible for those with mobility issues.

The best honeymoon experience ever!

Pure luxury! The bed was massive and comfortable, the staff were amazing, and the view was unreal. They picked us up from the port and offered a shuttle service to nearby locations. The breakfast was amazing and loved that they served until a bit later as we’re late risers. The location was amazing, a short walk to the best restaurants (mama tam’s is a must), bars and beach but far enough away that it was nice and quiet at night. The room service cocktails were amazing. They were able to advise and book a snorkel tour for us. Honestly, all the staff were so friendly and really went above and beyond! Can’t wait to come back but hopefully stay for longer!

Honestly, nothing! If I was searching for a fault there was a nail in the floor that hadn’t been fully hammered in so stuck out a little if you were bare foot but that’s me looking for a fault and my husband didn’t notice it!

Incredible staff, incredible views

What an incredible experience. We initially booked 3 different places for Koh Tao, all high end (as much as possible for the island), all with great reviews. We decided to stick with Secret Garden because of the outstanding reviews and boy were we right. Even before our stay, I jokingly asked if there’s a TV in our villa as we like to relax at the end of a day infront of our tv shows, and to my absolute surprise the incredibly attentive owners actually took the effort and brought a brand new TV, chromecast included to our room! We’ve also had issues with the view from the first villa we were offered and the owner was more than happy to offer us an alternative and even reimburse us for the difference of price. This went even further, as every single staff member was competing for the title of the nicest person we’ve met on the island. From Joe who welcomed us, to Saif and his wife who accommodated every concern we’ve faced to the lovely house maids who took care of our room. The hotel is brand new, everything was clean and watching the sunset from our private pool was just incredible. Above all else, the level of service we’ve received was nothing short of amazing, best we’ve ever had the pleasure to witness.

As the hotel is brand new, there are some general improvements one would be happy to have at that price. Shelves/storage in the room, a better refrigerator or even a microwave for those lazy nights, better water pressure and constant hot water when showering. The vegetation still needs to grow around the rooms to supply more privacy for the upper rooms.

Stunning!

Absolutely stunning views and location. Gorgeous room. The breakfast portions are huge and really tasty and communication with the owners and their staff is really easy via WhatsApp where you can order drinks to your room etc.

The only issues we had were that mosquitoes are quite relentless and would be in the pool when you woke up in the morning but the staff to regularly come round to clean the pool.

The views were amazing, the staff are very attentive especially Joe, they reply to all requests via what’s app immediately. The villas are beautiful, very quiet and only 15 minutes walk from all the bars / restaurants. The hotel also provide a buggy service The unlimited free refillable water was an added bonus!

A hotel that aims for a higher standard than it can realistically deliver

The staff, especially the hotel manager, were very dedicated, and overall the service was excellent. The hotel owners were also friendly and accommodating. We left one day earlier than planned and received a refund for the unused night without any issues. Everything was also very clean.

There were several issues with the accommodation. The location is not ideal. Without a scooter, you have to climb very steep hills to reach the town or the beach. Although there is a shuttle service running between 8 AM and 9 PM (occasionally from 7:30 AM), it’s not suitable if you have early activities like diving, which often start at 7 AM. For a 3-minute drive, we had to pay 300 Baht for a taxi. Breakfast had to be ordered the evening before, between 8 and 11 PM (cut-off around 7 PM but you got reminded over WhatsApp ), and it was delivered to the room. However, it could arrive up to 20 minutes earlier than the selected time. There was no option for early breakfast – for example, before diving – only the offer to have breakfast after returning. There were three options, which were neither particularly tasty nor inedible – just a bit limited in our opinion. The room had only two lounge chairs outside and two floor cushions inside, which weren’t comfortable for having breakfast. There were no spaces to eat or relax outside the room. However, the main problem was that the rooms were not properly sealed. The sliding doors were so poorly insulated that various insects, including cockroaches, could get inside. Although the staff made an effort to keep them out, small cockroaches kept appearing. The owner told me he couldn’t entirely prevent it. For a hotel in this price range, I find that unacceptable.

New villas with excellent service and view

The villa was absolutely beautiful. The view from the terrace/pool and the possibility to open the doors completely to even enjoy the view from the bed was awesome. We really enjoyed our stay and stayed two more nights than planned. We could choose from three breakfasts for each morning, which doesn't seem much, but the variety was good. The hosts were super nice and helped us regardless of the topic. If it was with the rent of a scooter or pick ups in the evening near the beach. I would highly recommend the villas and would always come back.

La chambre est vraiment belle avec une vue magnifique. Le personnel est très sympathique et serviable. Petit déjeuner de qualité.

La chambre, bien que très belle, présente quelques défauts moins excusables vu son prix : manque de rangement, douche ouverte sur le reste de la chambre, vu direct de la douche dans les toilettes (pas génial pour l'intimité), localisation un peu en hauteur qui limite la liberté sans location de scooter.

Lyxig villa med fantastisk utsikt!

Superfint och fräscht boende med fantastisk utsikt över havet och solnedgången. Servicen och personalen var toppklass. Väldigt hjälpsamma och välkomnande. Ligger ca 5 minuter med bil från Sairee beach och livligare gator vilket gjorde det mera lugnt och privat. Boendet erbjöd gratis skjuts till och från stranden vilket var en ippskattad service, t.ex. för att åka in och äta middag.

Villorna ligger nära varandra samt personal rör sig runt boendet vilket inte gör det helt privat.

Ontspanning

Het prachtige uitzicht (we hadden een front view villa) met voldoende privacy. Een open douche wat een gevoel van vrijheid gaf. Het bed lag heerlijk!

Er komen zo nu en dan ongenodigde gasten langs (spinnen, kakkerlakken etc). Dit komt niet door gebrekkige hygiëne maar omdat het huisje niet goed genoeg afgesloten kan worden om insecten buiten te houden. Onder de klamboe slapend hadden we nergens last van. 1x is de eigenaar gekomen om een grote spin weg te halen, wat heel fijn was.

La villa est incroyable, nous avons adoré la vue avec le coucher du soleil et la piscine privée. Les hôtes étaient hyper réactifs et chaleureux. L’hôtel est très bien situé, nous pouvions aller dans le centre/plage à pied facilement ou en navette qu’il proposait gratuitement

Ottimo ma possono offrire di meglio

Struttura nuova immersa nel verde su una collina vicino al centro principale. La vista era davvero bella sul mare e sulla foresta. La salita è parecchio impegnativa anche in motorino, se non siete pratici consigliamo di affidarvi al loro servizio transfer. La nostra camera era molto spaziosa arredata con gusto, la piscina ed il terrazzino sicuramente sono stati un valore aggiunto al soggiorno. Per la colazione potevi scegliere tra due alternative dolci e un paio salate, servita in camera in quanto non hanno uno spazio dedicato alla ristorazione/bar. I ragazzi dello staff sono stati davvero gentili dandoci anche consigli per visitare al meglio l'isola. Abbiamo anche usufruito del servizio lavanderia che è stato ottimo.

La struttura è nuova ma è ancora in costruzione quindi ci sono un paio di cantieri per ultimare le villette. A proposito delle villette, considerate che gli infissi non sono "isolanti" con l'esterno e si vedevano spazi importanti, anche la porta di ingresso che ballava con il vento, cose che per una struttura nuova e che vuole essere lusso visti i prezzi non è proprio l'ideale. Da amante del verde ho apprezzato molto la cura delle piante negli spazi comuni ma personalmente l'applicazione dell'erba sintetica è davvero brutta e abbassa il percepito totale. Sarebbe da considerare l'introduzione di un servizio di bar/ristorazione e reception h24, sempre per essere in linea ai prezzi richiesti che sono alti per essere in Thailandia.

Utrolig dejligt værelse og pool - indrettet flot og flot udsigt. Personalet var meget søde og hjælpsomme!

Wifi fungerede ikke særlig godt, på trods af at de prøvede at fixe det. Morgenmaden var skuffende i forhold til prisen. Når man gik fra værelset, slukkede alt elektriciteten hvorfor at Aircon på værelset også slukkede. Dette betød at man kom hjem til et varmt rum efter en dag ude i solen.

Odanın camları tam kapanmadığı için içeri fazlasıyla böcek giriyor. Klima yetersiz. Tolle Lage, tolles Pool, nettes Personal - einfach eine großartige Unterkunft

Die Unterkunft liegt etwas höher auf einem Berg - dadurch hat man eine super tolle Aussicht. Sobald man 5 Minuten den Berg hinabgeht, befinden sich rechts und links zahlreiche traditionelle Restaurants. In weiteren 5-10 Minuten erreicht man die touristische Straße Sairee Street und man ist komplett im Zentrum. Das Zimmer ist fabelhaft und der Pool spitze. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und bietet Fahrten mit dem Buggy an. Der Eigentümer ist per WhatsApp zu erreichen, was die Kommunikation erleichtert.

Einzige Verbesserungsmöglichkeit: Schränke/Ablagen Es gab nur eine Kleiderstange mit einigen Kleiderbügeln.

Expérience incroyable

Par où commencer... Le transfert du ferry à l'hôtel s'est super bien passé avec des précisions pour retrouver le chauffeur très claires , en arrivant à l'établissement nous avons été très bien accueilli. Les petits déjeuner sont extraordinaire, la vue est incroyable !! La villa est très bien équipée on ne manque de rien. Le personnel est vraiment formidable, aux petits soin pour tout ( petit clin d'œil pour le jeune que nous avons retrouver à la plage de Ao Hing Wong, nous l'avons beaucoup apprécié, il est d'une gentillesse extrême). Les photos sont exactement identiques à la villa.

Przyjemne przyjęcie, pozwolenie na poczucie się jak gość, doskonała komunikacja i proaktywność gospodarzy. Zamieniliśmy z nimi kilka słów o prywatnym życiu i historii hotelu, widać i czuć że to wspaniali ludzie którym zależy by oferować jak najlepsze przyjęcie i opiekę.

Nie chcę wymieniać nic na siłę. Zacinające się okno czy kilka mrówek lgnących do okruszków to nie wady przy całokształcie. Poza tym te problemy zostały natychmiast rozwiązane. Pisze o nich tylko dlatego, żeby pokazać jak świetnym miejscem jest ten hotel.

Wir kommen wieder!

Die Zimmer sind absolut traumhaft. Die ganze Anlage sehr liebevoll durchdacht. Abends den Sonnenuntergang beobachten war unser Highlight! Oder auch duschen mit Blick in den Jungle. Die Besitzer sind ein zuckersüßes Englisch sprachiges Pärchen die einem auch bei allem helfen. Wir sind absolut verliebt!

Einziges Manko ist vllt dass es keinen richtigen Kleider Schrank Bereich giebt.

Schöne Unterkunft mit Verbesserungspotenzial

Die Unterkunft besteht aus einer Handvoll kleiner Villas mit jeweils eigenem kleinen Pool und hat erst Anfang des Jahres eröffnet. Wir möchten eine ehrliche Bewertung abgeben, da wir noch Verbesserungspotenzial sehen, um aus einer guten eine sehr gute Unterkunft zu machen. Die Aussicht aus den Villas und aus dem Pool ist wirklich sehr schön. Bei der hinteren Villa ist die Sicht durch das Dach der Villa davor teilweise leicht eingeschränkt, aber das wussten wir. Wir wurden am Pier abgeholt und mit einem kleinen Auto zur Unterkunft gebracht und herzlich begrüßt. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und quasi jederzeit per WhatsApp erreichbar. Bei der Ankunft ließ sich die rechte der beiden großen Fenster Fronten nicht öffnen, der Gastgeber hat sich aber sofort darum gekümmert. Das Bett ist groß und bequem. Die Anlage ist sehr gepflegt und schön angelegt. In einer zur Verfügung gestellten Glasflasche kann man sich jederzeit an der Rezeption Trinkwasser abfüllen. Auch das Mieten eines Rollers war über die Unterkunft organisiert möglich und lief reibungslos ab. Zu einem fairen Preis erhielten wir einen guten Roller mit nur 3.000 Baht Kaution, die wir anstandslos bei Rückgabe zurück erhielten. Leider gab es mein Moskitonetz in unserer Villa, dafür aber einen elektrischen Schläger, mit dem man der Vielzahl an Mücken gut Herr werden konnte. Das Frühstück bestellt man am Vorabend per WhatsApp. Man hat die Wahl aus drei Varianten und vier Uhrzeiten. Am nächsten Morgen erhält man das Frühstück pünktlich aufs Zimmer geliefert.

Das Frühstück ist teilweise wirklich Geschmacksache. Wir haben alle drei Varianten probiert. Eine Variante besteht aus (Dosen?)Tomaten mit Zwiebeln und „pochierten Eiern“, die eher Spiegeleier waren. Die Variante des englischen Frühstücks ist in Ordnung, wobei an einem Tag die Bratwurst nicht richtig durch war. Die dritte Variante ist ein Joghurt mit Mango, Banane und Granola. Diese Variante ist gut, aber die Portion zu klein (wir haben uns im Supermarkt noch einen Joghurt dazu gekauft). Insgesamt erwartet man in dieser Unterkunft und für diesen Preis einfach ein besseres Frühstück. Das Personal ist zwar durchweg freundlich, aber auch bei der Zimmerreinigung gibt es noch Verbesserungspotenzial. Am dritten Tag hatten wir die Handtücher auf den Boden gelegt, um frische zu erhalten, leider wurden sie aber einfach wieder aufgehängt. Nachdem wir per WhatsApp Bescheid gaben, hatten wir wenige Minuten später dann aber frische. Das Problem wurde also fix behoben. An einem Tag wollten wir keine Reinigung und hatten das „nicht stören Schild“ entsprechend an die Tür gehängt. Als wir von einem Ausflug zurück kamen, war dann aber gerade jemand zur Reinigung in unserem Zimmer. Wirklich sauber war es danach allerdings nicht und auch eine fast leere Box mit Kosmetiktüchern wurde nicht aufgefüllt. Die Ausstattung wirkt auf den ersten Blick hochwertig und auf Fotos macht alles einen tollen Eindruck. Es mangelt aber leider an praktischen Dingen wie z.B. der Möglichkeit, Kleidung abzulegen. Es gab bei uns nur 4 Kleiderbügel und keinerlei Schränke oder Schubladen. Sehr schlecht war die Doppelliege am Pool, deren Kopfteil sich leider nicht verstellen ließ und man somit nur flach liegen konnte. Wir sahen allerdings, dass bei den anderen Villen Liegen mit verstellbaren Lehnen standen. Dies sollte man bei allen Villen einheitlich regeln. Ebenso hatten wir leider kein Moskitonetz über dem Bett, was zumindest bei einer anderen der Villen vorhanden ist.
