Lovely apartment situated on a hill with great view. Spacious balcony.

The property is very spacious, with panoramic views, set in well kept gardens with a lovely little pool. It’s very close to the beach, dive centre, Koh Tao yoga, shops and restaurants but in a really peaceful location. Initially we didn’t want a scooter, so walked to all the amenities - (10 mins) but because the property is set on a hill, and then had loads of additional steps to reach the top apartment we found the walk back home quite challenging in the heat, so in the end gave in and got a scooter and wished we’d done it sooner!

Both of the wardrobes have drawers which don’t work and need fixing. We found the matresses too soft, and the duvet covers were old and faded and had gone a bit bobbly to the touch. I had to turn mine inside out, but then it was fine.

Some annoyances persist while they have been mentioned already many times before by others: big gap between sliding doors, TV not working, poor wifi, attributes at swimming pool not very well maintained, poor quality mattress on the beds, two single bedsheets on one double bed... These deficiencies or annoyances are not the end of the world but for the price charged it should be all in excellent condition.

Location, pool, parking, room, the rocks and of course Tony was the best.

The view from the pool was very nice. Also the apartment was quite spacious and the aircon worked pretty well. The pick up from the ferry was also super convenient and the staff was super nice and helpful.

The doors weren't able to be completely closed - there was always a gap - which means there was always a way for mosquitos etc to get into the apartment. The shower was kind of clogged, it took some time for the water to rinn off.

We had a great time at Viking house! This place is beautiful and peaceful with our lovely landlords Tony & Verica. They let you feel you are at home and always help you out if you need them. We highly recommend this place and we are definitely coming back

I would give an 11 if I could. This place is amazing! Great friendly hosts who helped us whenever we needed it. An amazing pool and incredible view, especially for the sunset in the morning! Wifi worked always well. The place is close to the pier but on the hill, so you can enjoy a good view above the city. Thank you so much!!

Small thing: some pillows for the beds are rather uncomfortable.

We liked everything about our stay in Viking House! It is in a beautiful location overlooking fantastic views of the water, mountains and islands and a short walk to Mae Head. The hosts/owners were so helpful and lovely to us during our stay. We also loved the pool area to relax and cool off. If (hopefully) retuning to Koh Tao again we would try to book this accommodation again!

really only thing someone could criticize is, that sometimes the wifi wasn’t working, but on this beautiful island and apartments it doesn’t matter - just maybe to keep in mind for people who have to work remotely and rely on really good wifi

This accommodation's redeeming qualities are that it has an absolutely amazing view from a great, spacious balcony. We loved having our breakfast overlooking the bay. It was a nice change to finally have accommodation with kitchen facilities, we really appreciated this, even though they weren't in the best condition when we arrived - the sink and drying rack were pretty dirty, and the gas canister was empty when we arrived and neither of the two lighters worked ( but both of these were replaced 👍)

Honestly, we really hate leaving bad reviews but this place disappointed us more and more as the days went on. We thought it was paradise when we arrived - big apartment with lots of facilities and the perfect view - but the little things built up as we went along. Firstly - the ants. Not like 10 or 20 but hundreds over the few days. Some ants are to be expected and we wouldn't complain but the amount was ridiculous and made worse by the fact that there was nothing in place to prevent this as neither set of double doors to the patio are sealed shut AT ALL. There is a gap all along the bottom, and between the sliding doors, over a centimetre wide. There is no extractor fan in the bathroom and given that the wall is glass and the room gets very hot this is not pleasant at all. The bathroom was not cleaned to a satisfactory level at all. The shower drain is blocked and it's floor actually has something green growing on it (presumably from the damp and the light from the glass wall) and there is a scum line all around the bottom and around the drain. The sink also has this scum line and it doesn't seem as if any of it has been properly cleaned in quite a while. There are two single bed sheets on both double beds - why? And all of the bed sheets are clearly aged with bleach marks and slightly bally/rough texture from age and washing. And finally, there was no communication from our hosts after the initial directions, and no reception so you can't even go to ask questions. Other reviews said they were really friendly with lots of advice and help - we got nothing. This was really disappointing as it's something we look for and appreciate. Also important to note that we paid way less than the usual rate - and we wouldn't even pay close to that again. This property could be amazing, but work needs to be done.

Cold welcome during the check-in, few information missing (Key location), equipments state quite poor (toasters with cheese inside, cupboards state in the roomd,, lot of hairs in the shower receiver)

The location on the hill offer a good view.

NOT a hotel! no reception to go in case of problems. Until this stay I always relied on Booking.com evaluations. But now I am wondering who is writing them. My complains are based on states that were not popping up quite recently. If you are not brave to rent a scooter on Ko Tao you must not rent the apartment because you need a scooter to go to the beaches and to the restaurants. The narrow road is too long and steep to climb at the temperatures. You should be familiar with scooter because the road that is narrow, steep and curvy and becomes slippery when wet. Apartment is advertised with TV but it is 20 years old and out of order. I complaint and the answer was that this is due to a heavy storm. OK. But why not fixed when it is known? Sun loungers in the pool area are very old with matts in very wretched state, icky to lay on the even with a towel under. Bathroom is small, black and brown without active ventilation =>dark, hot and humid. Hot water only in shower. The door/windows do not close firmly even when locked. There is a gap to the wall to three directions. Thus you cannot keep mosquitos out of the room when switching lamps on, there is no mosquito net at night. Hot air from outside is constantly travelling in thus the old air condition is running all the time. “Kitchen” consists of 20 year old microwave some spoons, plates and huge refrigerator. You cannot cook anything. No frequent maintenance to empty the bin with the toilet paper. Lock on the window is corroded. You need to press the tap at least three times to wash your hands as only small amount of water comes out each time, each press causing the water pump starting up each time with a big bang. pump is fetched to the building =>Each time when anybody in any apartment is using the tap or toilet or shower the bang goes through the wall especially in the base apartments. The owner was not willing to change my apartment although there were some upper ones free.

Rooms were nice and the pool area was good.

I was surprised that this place had such high ratings. Don't get me wrong... the place is very nice but far from a 9* rating. only real criticism is that we had to ask for towels toilet paper to be replaced and during our stay our rooms were not cleaned and bedding not changed. not a major issue but for similar priced accomodation we received service.

The hosts are very friendly, no language barrier at all. You get the feeling that everything will be good as the common sense is king at the property. The owners live at the property and they can advise you with everything. It's quiet area with a nice view and a nice pool. You do need a scooter to get around, but you get home and it's quiet. Koh Tao is so small that you will not drive more than 10 minutes anyway. To go to 7/11 or any shop it will be 2 minutes on a scooter. The apartment is spacious, 2 bedrooms and a kitchen where you can cook stuff, pans, knives, cutting boards, glasses - everything is there. We will come to Koh Tao for sure and I will book this place again. Everything just made sense in this place and we could completely relax.

Mattresses could definitely be better and the safe needs maintainance. I have no doubts that Tony will look into it :)

Very peaceful location but still close to town. Tony and his wife are extremely friendly and helpful hosts. We got a lot of recommendations. This place is the perfect place to stay if you wish some basic, clean, quite but central location in Koh Tao.

Tony and his wife are some of the best hosts we’ve ever experienced and we had a really wonderful time staying at Viking House. Lovely quiet location with incredible views. You’re able to rent a scooter for a low cost and Tony will go above and beyond to help with whatever you need, he was so great! Wifi was also very strong so we worked remotely from here and had no problems. Thank you so much for a wonderful two weeks - we loved every second of our stay :D

The only thing was that it was hard to find - we’d recommend when walking from the port, put the restaurant Milk and Honey into Google maps and follow the directions for there, then you’ll see the signs for Viking House :) but thank you Tony for picking us up when we got lost trying to find you!

Absolutely amazing! We loved our stay. Upon arrival our room was upgraded due to a shower problem in our original room and the replacement room was spectacular. Friendly host who gave advice and everything we needed. Cannot recommended enough. Lovely stay.

Our Host, Tony the Viking took great care of us. The cottage was perfect. Stuning view. We should have stayed there more nights.

Difficult to find a weak point in our rental. A point can be to improve was the quality of the bed (mattress)
