the pool and view were nice and the bed was comfy

Perfect stay at Viking House. It is very convenient close to the peer and restaurants but at the same time uphills so very quiet and very nice view on the bay. Tony was very welcoming and mindful.

Pool was very quiet, Swedish guy who owned the joint was very polite and left a few cold cans of chang in the fridge for us on arrival .
Didn't get the concrete cast bedstead very strange and the big lump of stone concrete effect the bedroom and bathroom .
A bit of a climb from the ferry jetty up to the hotel ..taxis are a total rip off ..

This accommodation's redeeming qualities are that it has an absolutely amazing view from a great, spacious balcony. We loved having our breakfast overlooking the bay.
It was a nice change to finally have accommodation with kitchen facilities, we really appreciated this, even though they weren't in the best condition when we arrived - the sink and drying rack were pretty dirty, and the gas canister was empty when we arrived and neither of the two lighters worked ( but both of these were replaced 👍)
Honestly, we really hate leaving bad reviews but this place disappointed us more and more as the days went on. We thought it was paradise when we arrived - big apartment with lots of facilities and the perfect view - but the little things built up as we went along.
Firstly - the ants. Not like 10 or 20 but hundreds over the few days. Some ants are to be expected and we wouldn't complain but the amount was ridiculous and made worse by the fact that there was nothing in place to prevent this as neither set of double doors to the patio are sealed shut AT ALL. There is a gap all along the bottom, and between the sliding doors, over a centimetre wide.
There is no extractor fan in the bathroom and given that the wall is glass and the room gets very hot this is not pleasant at all.
The bathroom was not cleaned to a satisfactory level at all. The shower drain is blocked and it's floor actually has something green growing on it (presumably from the damp and the light from the glass wall) and there is a scum line all around the bottom and around the drain. The sink also has this scum line and it doesn't seem as if any of it has been properly cleaned in quite a while.
There are two single bed sheets on both double beds - why? And all of the bed sheets are clearly aged with bleach marks and slightly bally/rough texture from age and washing.
And finally, there was no communication from our hosts after the initial directions, and no reception so you can't even go to ask questions. Other reviews said they were really friendly with lots of advice and help - we got nothing. This was really disappointing as it's something we look for and appreciate.
Also important to note that we paid way less than the usual rate - and we wouldn't even pay close to that again.
This property could be amazing, but work needs to be done.
