If you dream of escaping to a little slice of Spanish heaven, Casa Almenta in Benalauría is the place. Honestly, it's less of a holiday home and more of a warm hug disguised as a house. From the moment we arrived, we felt like we were visiting family, not the kind of family that pinches your cheeks or asks why you're still single, but the kind that makes you feel completely, unapologetically YOU. Let's start at the beginning *Getting there? Cristina ensured we had crystal-clear directions (because no one wants a GPS meltdown while chasing mountain views, right?). It was an adventure down a small, narrow, curvy road to the small parking lot. *And the welcome? Well, this deserves its own paragraph. Isabel transported our luggage, my senior mother, and me in her car. We walked in, and the fireplace was already crackling. Yes, crackling—as if to say, "Welcome, friend. Kick off those shoes, and let's get cozy." Isabel, who's clearly part angel, showed us how to keep the fire going and where to grab more wood. (Hot tip: a warm fire + mountain views = instant bliss. You're welcome.) *The house itself? Perfect. Okay, picture this: three spacious bedrooms that you know will bring on the kind of sleep dreams are made of. There's an accessible bathroom, a fully equipped kitchen that begs you to whip up local dishes, and plenty of space to lounge around without tripping over anyone. There are family rooms for actual family time (or an intense Uno game) and outdoor spaces that are the stuff of daydreams. *Speaking of outdoors, the patios—oh, the patios! Turns out Casa Almenta knows the way to your heart: free WiFi (for that "look where I am!" social post), a washing machine (essential if you've been traveling for some time and need clean clothes), and even a barbecue. We didn't get around to grilling, but honestly, that's just an excuse to return. They've even got streaming services and a workspace if you're into the "working remotely while pretending you're not" thing. But let's be real—you're probably not working here. You're just being. *Benalauría itself? Magic. This little village glows, I swear. The quiet, contented vibe of the town feels like a gentle reminder to slow down. The locals? Forget "friendly." They're welcoming in a way that makes you feel like part of the community within minutes. Wandering through the streets, little fountains are everywhere, and street-lined pots of red and pink geraniums and fuchsias add a sprinkle of charm you didn't know you needed. Cristina, Isabel, and Antonio weren't just hosts; they felt like long-lost friends with an unrivaled talent for making you feel at home. If you're ever looking for a place to just be, where the pace slows, and the world feels a little kinder, Casa Almenta is waiting for you… And we'll be back there as soon as we can. Trust me, you won't be talking about "that holiday rental by the time you leave.

Tenéis que probar la experiencia.

En general todo estaba de 10. El alojamiento es muy bonito y muy acogedor. Las camas muy cómodas y tanto el alojamiento como el pueblo de benalauría y su gente inmejorable. Repetiremos nada más que podamos. Agradecer y resaltar la amabilidad y la implicación de Isabel. Que nos ha tratado, antes durante y después con un cariño y una implicación no vista en otros alojamientos en los que he estado. Hicimos una experiencia gastronómica en el pueblo muy recomendable. El sitio se llama 28 m2 y contratas la experiencia llamando por teléfono para un máximo de 6 personas. Una locura de día que pasamos allí probando vinos y productos de la tierra a parte de una guía por el pueblo de la mano del dueño del local. (Pepe)

Decorado con muy buen gusto. Súper limpio. Las camas muy cómodas y la casa equipada con todos los utensilios posibles. Da la sensación sensación de que es todo nuevo. Y la propietaria amabilísima!! Por cierto el pueblo muy muy bonito!! Me sorprendió.

Solo no me gustó que en el patio de la habitación de matrimonio hay un hueco por el cual se oye a los habitantes de la casa de abajo.

Heerlijk onderdompelen in Spaanse sferen op een geweldige plek in een prachtig huis

Het verblijf bij Cristina en Isabel was in één woord geweldig! Het huisje was ontzettend schoon en heeft meer faciliteiten dan je kan wensen. Een volledig ingerichte keuken met allerlei keukenapparatuur (3 verschillende koffie automaten, broodrooster, oven en magnetron, koelkast met vriesvak, zelfs scherpe messen!), ruime slaapkamers met ventilatoren, de bedden zijn aan de harde kant maar wel erg comfortabel. In elke ruimte is een raam met een hor waardoor je ramen open kan laten staan in de nacht wanneer het afkoelt. Het terras aan de voorkant van het huisje is heerlijk om te zitten en het straatbeeld te aanschouwen. In de woonkamer is een zeer comfortabele bank om een dagje of avond op bij te komen en een film te kijken. Daarnaast is het heel fijn communiceren met Cristina. Ze heeft ons antwoord gegeven op elke vraag die we hadden. Tijdens ons verblijf stond haar moeder Isabel voor ons klaar. En hoe! Ze heeft ons opgehaald van de parkeerplaats en onze spullen naar het huisje gebracht. Bij vragen reageerde ze altijd heel vriendelijk, behulpzaam en snel. Ik reisde met een vriendin van 87 en Isabel heeft ons geholpen met vervoer indien dat nodig was. Zowel Cristina als Isabel zijn geweldig lieve mensen! Het plaatsje Benalauría is ook geweldig. Prachtige straatjes, heel vriendelijke bewoners en de basis voorzieningen zijn aanwezig. Er zitten twee goede restaurants, een bakker en een paar kleine winkeltjes. Met de auto rij je het dorp uit meteen de prachtige bergen in. We hebben regelmatig een dagje met de auto rondgereden in de prachtige omgeving om onderweg ergens te lunchen. Deze accommodatie is zeer de moeite waard. Alles klopt; het huisje zelf, de hosts en de omgeving.

MARAVILLOSA Y CON ENORME ENCANTO

Un auténtico encanto. La casa cuenta de tres habitaciones, una de ellas con terraza, amplio salón, cocina y baño. Además hay un pequeño patio en sombra (por una parra) donde poder estar más al fresco. La casa cuenta con una chimenea totalmente completa. Todo ha sido perfecto.

Hervorragendes und wunderschönes Urlaubshaus

In diesem wunderschönen Haus hat uns alles gefallen! Angefangen von der herzlichen Begrüßung und Wegbeschreibung von Cristina und dann die Ankunft. Der Kamin hat gebrannt, ein frisches Brot, Orangen und Wasser standen in der Küche. Wir haben uns sofort willkommen gefühlt. Das ganze Haus ist mit viel Liebe zum Detail und sehr hochwertiger Qualität ausgestattet. Das merkt man sofort an den sehr bequemen Betten, dem topmodernen Badezimmer und der perfekt ausgestatten Küche. Dazu ist das ganze Haus noch wunderschön und geschmackvoll dekoriert. Die Lage in diesem kleinen bezaubernden Bergdorf ist perfekt für einen absoluten Wohlfühlurlaub. Vielen Dank an Cristina und Isabel für diese wunderbaren Tage! Wir werden sehr gerne wiederkommen.

Espectacular casa para desconectar de la ciudad

La casa es preciosa, tiene todo tipo de detalles. Isabel nos dejó varios detalles, cápsulas de café, un pan del pueblo, bastante leña para la chimenea. Después súper serviciales, nos ayudaron con las maletas y a llevar a mi madre en coche desde el parking hasta la puerta de la casa. Sin duda volveremos.

Una auténtica casa de pueblo, limpieza impecable, en el centro del pueblo, los dueños maravillosos. Mi perrita se perdió y nos ayudaron a buscarla durante dos horas. Gracias de nuevo por tanta amabilidad. Sin duda lo recomiendo y volveré seguro.
