Elmhurst

Nicely decorated, well equipped and some nice personal touches like fresh wild flowers. Very comfortable bed. Initially we had difficulty with the keys. Chris came across immediately to help.

Loo flush insufficient.

We had a really lovely stay at Elmhurst in Ovingham. The house is beautiful and felt really homely, with a lovely log fire in the front room. The hosts had left some wild flowers in the living room and milk in the fridge for our arrival, which was such a thoughtful touch. The courtyard at the back is really lovely and private - and the raised garden at the front is beautiful, with benches surrounded by lavender. I also loved seeing vegan toiletries provided in the bathroom, including soap, body wash and bubble bath. Such a nice touch! The location is brilliant for walks, with Prudhoe riverside, Whittle Dene and lots of other lovely walks nearby. Ovingham itself has a lovely heritage trail too. We also had a family meal at the local pub - The White Swan - with 25 of us, and they catered for us exceptionally well. The house had absolutely everything we needed, including a washing machine, dishwasher and microwave, as well as all the detergents, washing-up liquid, cloths and tea towels. It really felt like everything had been thought of. A really lovely place with really lovely hosts. We would definitely stay again!

It was quiet, self contained and had everything you needed.

This is a lovely, well-equipped property in a lovely village. Good outdoor space when the weather is good.

Nothing!
