The property is beautifully restored and thoughtfully furnished, with every detail considered ( and more!) its filled with charming books, artwork and objects that make it feel like a true home from home. We would have happily have spent far more time in the house had our weekend not been so busy in Stroud. The experience was exceptional. Jon’s communication was fabulous and the clear household information really stood out. we really hope to return to Stroud in the future and will happily book the same property again.

Got the impression that once he had got our money the host didn't care

not much, though it appeared clean

too much to list. We paid for 3 nights and left after 1. Decided to stay in the Cirencester Premier Inn for the remaining 2 nights but I took a tumble down the lethal stairs and so injured my foot that I couldn't drive and had difficulty walking so we came straight home. I appreciate my feelings are out of line with other reviewers and comments in the visitors' comments book so please ignore my review, except about the stairs. I f you are elderly like me they are potentially lethal.

Perfect for events in Stroud!

Charming cottage that is very well situated for events in the town centre, just a 7 minute walk away. Very well equipped and comfortable with excellent instructions for check-in and property usage.

Whilst quaint, the very steep stairs can be tricky to navigate, especially whilst carrying luggage.

Perfect place for Stroud visit.

The property was perfect for our overnight stay with everything walkable including nice pubs and places to eat. The property has been renovated to a very high standard and styled beautifully. It is well equipped and comfortable. We’d stay again if visiting Stroud.

What a find *****

Absolutely loved every aspect of this property. Spotlessly clean, beautiful bathroom, perfect layout and decor. I travel probably every other weekend for hiking or Triathlon events, usually stay overnight and I have to say that this is one of the nicest places I have stayed including hotels, B&B’s and Guesthouses. We were looking at 2 nights away for the Bank Holiday weekend and we came across this property which looked perfect and due to the reasonable price actually changed our plans and booked 3 nights. We were not disappointed! Also the hosts were incredibly helpful and welcoming with advice about the area.. Next time we are anywhere near Gloucestershire we will certainly check the availability before booking anything else. Cheers guys *****

Very nice stay in very well equiped town house

Very specious apartment for 2 people and the owners have made it very homely. They have thought about absolutely everything from kitchen utensils to adapters and chargers and first aid kit. There is a washing machine which was great on our walking holiday so we could do a proper washing after having been on the move for a week. The location is at walking distance from the town centre and trains and buses. E.g. we took the 228 bus to Miserden on Thusrday and the 66 to Painswick. Good location if you are walking the Cotswold Way, but remember it is on the Eastern side of town. The supermarket is at walking distance too and when we met the owner on the day of departure, she was very friendly.

The towels were very smelly (sour) because they were probably washed in short, cold washes. So we washed a good number on high temperature only to find that the washing rack was a puzzle and a bit of a laugh. The floor downstairs was rather dusty and a lot of the crockery and glasses dirty (so needed to be washed before we could use them). Once that was done, the house was a very nice place to stay! The airconditioning of the neighbouring corner shop is quite loud, so we slept with the windows closed.

Stylish, cosy and in the town.

This property was super cosy and stylish. The layout and decor was beautiful. We really enjoyed this house and it’s amenities. There is a corner shop next door and a pub round the corner. You can park for free if you can find a space on the road it’s on. The owner was super helpful and had great communication.

The stairs are quite steep coming down so just be mindful as the bedroom is on the third floor.

Delightful house with everything we needed

Jon’s place was more than elegant. So thoughtfully laid out and decorated. The kitchen had everything needed for our stay. The little court yard was a perfect for the hot day we arrived. All the way to the top is a large bedroom with a very comfortable bed. On the next floor down is a living room, with work desk (we didn’t use) and a big bathroom with walk in powerful shower. Then on the ground floor a dinning room, loo, utility and well equipped kitchen. The back door leads to a small court yard.

Cosy Cotswolds stay

This is a wonderful place to stay in Stroud. Beautiful interior and so clean and tidy. Great facilities. The bathroom is huge and the shower is amazing. We loved Stroud as a place, very quirky and lots and went with Jon’s recommendation of the local Indian restaurant which was delicious.

A beautiful cosy stay in Stroud

The house is charmingly beautiful, it feels cosy and homely as soon as you walk in the door. It's beautifully decorated with thoughtful touches for things you might need. The house is on a quiet road with some free parking nearby if required, but its also a short walk to the train station and town centre. I would definitely recommend and would definitely stay again. If you're looking for a nice stay in Stroud, this is where i'd recommend.

There wasn't anything we didn't like! The only difficulty we had was locking the back door but we got the knack of it eventually.
