Am revenit dupa un an (aprilie 2025) tot la acest hotel pentru ca am fost foarte multumiti, in ordine; de personalul hotelului, de calitatea camerei, de gradul de curatenie (prosoape schimbate zilnic), de micul dejun.
Hotelul fiind situat intr-o zona centrala si extrem de aglomerata, avand in vecinatate si alte hoteluri, zgomotul strazii nu poate fi izolat de tamplarie, oricat de performanta ar fi. Dar stiam acest lucru, ni l-am asumat si nu invinovatim proprietarii Espoir Hotel pentru ceea ce se intampla in exteriorul hotelului.

Breakfasts were not very varied, but we were not left hungry. The kitchen staff were friendly and willing to help. Our room was generally quiet as it faced the inner courtyard. The room was on the 2nd floor and in the mornings (around 7:30–8:00) the vent brought the smell of fried eggs into the room when windows were closed. Neighbors were sometimes noisy from the side or above. The room looked fairly new and in good condition overall. The bed could have been larger but was acceptable. Cleaning was done almost every day — they made the bed, replenished toiletries as needed and emptied the trash, but they did not clean the floors in the bathroom or the room. The hotel has an elevator, which made moving luggage and going to breakfast (on the negative second floor) convenient. Pros (What we liked): - Friendly and helpful kitchen staff. - Breakfasts were filling (though not very varied). - Room was generally quiet (facing the inner courtyard). - Room appeared fairly new and well maintained. - Daily basic housekeeping (bed made, toiletries refilled, trash removed). - Elevator available for convenience. - Small Migros Jet supermarket — ~1 minute walk from the hotel.
Our check-in experience was terrible. We asked for a parking space in advance because we arrived by car, but upon arrival there was no free parking. The manager was slow to respond to messages via Booking and WhatsApp. After calling, we were told they would find a spot, but instead we were sent to drive around looking for parking farther away. Eventually we parked on a pedestrian zone and, after about 10 minutes, managed to get a space near the hotel. Access to the room was difficult: the key cards they provided were demagnetized and we only managed to enter on the third attempt with 3rd key card. We booked a Deluxe room (32 m²) with one double bed, but were given a room with an extra single bed, so there was almost no free space. The wall to the next room was essentially missing, although staff promised not to check anyone into the neighboring room during our stay (which helped). We were exhausted after a long drive and dealing with parking and the room, so we didn’t argue further. During 5 of 7 days of our stay I discovered that my car had been damaged — scratches on four different parts. It looks like vandalism (done by a person, not another car). The car was parked under the hotel cameras; when I reported it at reception they said they checked the footage and found nothing. We visited the police station but they required a translator; the translator demanded a very high fee. It was obvious nobody wanted to help. The neighborhood felt unpleasant; despite many visits to Istanbul, this was the worst area we’ve stayed in. We could not find a decent café or restaurant nearby and often had to walk 15–20 minutes to find somewhere acceptable. Overall, given the serious negatives (parking, check-in, car vandalism, neighborhood), it is difficult to highlight positives — they exist, but they were overshadowed by the problems.
