Close location to our destination for the night ; right off the freeway and close to needed shopping, gas, food.
Advertising offering early Check in online, but not offered at property.

Jay at the front desk always a pleasure to speak with. I have zero complaints. The AC and Heat work great and the bed is comfortable. The cleaning staff is friendly and if they catch you outside will ask you if you need your room serviced. I appreciate that.
My key sometimes loses its memory but I think that's because I put it in my pocket next to my cell phone. So not a problem of the hotel.

The guy who checks you in, is rude and unprofessional. He kept talking on the phone while I was waiting for him to help me. I had to go back to the office about 5 times because the key was not working!!!! The room is very small! The good reviews you see online are all made by his friends!!!!! The guy who is usually at the front desk is arrogant
Room and bed and how small it was

That the floors were dirty we had to ask for a broom to sweep up. Our feet got dirty black after getting out of the shower. We even asked for a bucket and mop to clean the floors. This was at night, when the cleaning staff were already gone.

Good, clean, and straight forward place to spend a night or two.
You have to enter the gas station to get to the motel. Otherwise you may miss the location.

Nothing, the pictures are a scam it looks completely different in real life.
Complaint
-Water stain on bathroom ceiling with potential mold
- Didn't change the sheets once the entire stay
- The room is slowly falling apart, peeling and cracking everywhere
- The entire room stinks
- The shown pictures online compared to the real thing are complete opposites
- The towels had other peoples hair covering it
- Door doesn't close and there is a clear gap in it
- After housekeeping cleaned our room it smelled like they smoked inside
- The surrounding area is summed up of a highway and casino

Price was lower than the rest. Location.
Room 129 was bad. Smelled like pee and marijuana. It was dirty and the bathroom was not kept up, there is a casino right behind so there is traffic for that.

The distance to downtown and the beach was very close to the EconoLodge
The staff did not want to give back my 100 deposit and accused me of leaving blood and make up on a towel. They charge 20 for dirty towels FYI. I argued until he walkie talked with the cleaning lady and she said the room was okay. Staff took hours in giving me a transaction number with my deposit refunded in full. I got the receipt saying only 80 was refunded. And the 20 will be refunded later. In the lobby another woman said she gave them 600 and they told her she only gave 500. There is shady work going on. Do not recommend at all.

I booked the property in March, the payment was taken the day of arrival but I was travelling all day, I arrived and was told my room was taken but I had been charged, I repeat asked for a refund but am still waiting, they did however sell me another room for a higher price but still haven’t refunded me the previous room that was taken by someone else
They should’ve given me the other room with no charge instead of charging me again

The room itself was good, as was the shower. Breakfast consisted of apples, bananas, coffee, and chocolate bars.
The room was a little dark, even with all lights on.

I only like the closeness to the beach.
shower smelt like sewage , stained sheets.
When we tried leaving and to retrieve our deposit they said we never gave deposit , they couldn’t find me in the system but when i arrived first day they found my reservation. accused us of smoking ( we don’t smoke ) . told us that they’re keeping the 100$ deposit regardless. The gentleman who checked us in acted like he never met me before .. mind you i asked this gentleman for a fork TWICE on my 4 day visit. on top of everything also they refuse to let me pay with card , wanted to pay with my card whole reason why i chose booking.com

I didn't like anything about this hotel except for the room service. They overcharged me and took a deposit from my account without informing me. They were supposed to return it, but it never happened. They also charged $50 for early check-in and a $100 deposit, claiming it was to cover any potential stains on their washcloths and towels from makeup. Overall, this place feels like a scam.
I want to emphasize that there’s nothing I like about this hotel, except for the lady who cleaned our room. Please be cautious when booking here because they do not disclose extra charges on Booking.com. Upon arrival, you’ll find that they charge at least $150 extra. Additionally, they only accept cash and do not take credit cards.

I liked the location
The lobby was always locked. I would ring the doorbell to the lobby at 7:00am and no one would answer. Our room smelled like Marijuana. No coffee.

The location was suitable as we were at an event nearby
We arrived at the location only to be told our booking had been cancelled but the staff could not tell us who had cancelled the booking, the booking was active in booking.com. I was then given a number to call on my expense to understand who cancelled the booking, I spoke to OYO but they needed a specific reference number that I then needed to obtain from reception and was hung up on. I called booking.com and they attempted to resolve the issue but I had to wait 45 minutes for an outcome, bearing in mind this was after 9pm. We were told there is a room available but I needed to pay the day rate which was almost double the price I had booked the accommodation for. There was also only one room available at this point and because they had a few walks in (the price was astronomical too) they had to ask the cleaners to prep a few more rooms. After numerous phone calls to booking.com and the staff eventually phoning OYO, we were told the booking was cancelled the day prior and booking.com was supposed to inform us, booking.com denied this was the case. After at least 2 hours, a gentleman told me that he would match the price that was guaranteed on booking.com. We finally got into our room at 10pm. I have never experienced such poor customer service to resolve an issue. Bear in mind too when it says breakfast included this is a granola bar and fruit. The signage for the motel is also unclear as there is a big sign for a different lodge.

Absolutely nothing!!!
After driving around for ever, finally located the hotel behind a gas station ( had to pull into the gas station to get there). Area was full of homeless and hotel exterior looked like a dump. Went to check in only to discover my reservation had been canceled. The blamed Booking.co., but further investigation discovered that the hotel canceled it. While waiting to check in, the people in front of me got the "holiday weekend rates" speech which was about triple what I booked for. My guess is they cancelled cheaper rates to book for more money with walk ins. To make matters even more ridiculous, the couple in front of me booked with the inflated rates and was given a "small
discount" from super high price because the shower was broken.
Disgusted at their business practices, but somewhat relieved I didn't stay there. It was super sketchy and I would have had a difficult time sleeping while worrying about my car all night. Ended up paying double elsewhere due to "holiday rates", but I guess it all worked out.

The price.
The electricity went out around 8pm and didn’t come back on until after 4am. The walls had makeup on them, everything was old and didn’t feel safe.

The room smelled bad and either the water or drains smelled like sewage. There were wires hanging down the side of the door and rough patched holes throughout the room. The shower water didn’t drain because of the construction of the tiles, it just pooled in the bottom. The sitting chair was extremely stained and the mini fridge wasn’t cold. When we checked in there were a few signs saying their card reader was broken and only took cash. When we tried to cancel the 2nd night, they told us we booked third party and couldn’t refund us. I asked for the manager and she told me he wouldn’t be in today. A total scam. They also put $100 deposit on a credit card, but couldn’t take that card for payment. Totally shady, I would stop sending your business to them.

Friendly service at reception. Clean hotel rooms. Fine beds. Walking distance to Oceanside pier.
No Wifi in my hotel room. Could not pay my hotel room with credit card. Location close to I-5, a large gas station, and a casino.

The location is great. It is right off the freeway and easy to get to. The room was small, but efficient. It was quiet when not facing the highway.
The breakfast was very disappointing. There was only coffee, fruit and small protein bars. We went to a restaurant instead. Bread and yogurt would have made it better.

Clean rooms...really helpful clerk...great location .
We went to the Marine graduation the next day..this is within 40 minute drive and half the cost!!
And there's a casino across the parking lot.
This place is a little gem!

The first hiccup when I arrived -they ask for me to pay cash - the problem is I didn’t have any cash on me - their ATM doesn’t dispense enough cash. I had to go into town looking for an 8 AM so I can come back to pay them.
Also, I lost an item from my room. I went to report it to the front desk, and the guy at the front desk, George, was very confrontational, unprofessional, and did very little to help me. To make it even worse, they kept losing power to my section of the hotel… For an hour and a half the electricity is back-and-forth he was trying to fix it.
8.0 / 10.0
Location was close enough to the beach that you can walk and would only talk you about 25 mins. Not because it is far but the stop lights and street signs is what make it a little longer. Only 1.2 mile away.
The showers themselves is probably the worst part of the experience. It seemed like the drains were attached to sewage so though you never saw it you can definitely smell it coming up the pipes. It’s an egg like smell.

This hotel is an Econolodge. “Hotel Avenida” is totally made up and appears nowhere on the building/stationary etc.
They made me pay cash because their card reader was down, including the $100 deposit (conveniently their ATM charges $$ for needing cash)… apparently the machine is ALWAYS down. It’s not a one off or just happened on the day- it clears beneficial for them.
The exterior doors to the rooms barely fit, you hear EVERYTHING from outside (even in their photos you can see daylight coming through the ext door).
You have to keep the curtains closed even during the day because there are no shears so everyone can see in if they’re open (this is not an area I felt safe having people know what was in my room- it’s pretty sketchy)
The interior doors are super thin. I could hear EVERYTHING from the adjoining room, it felt like it was just one open space- it was wild. That with the fact the other occupant stayed up way later than I did and snored incredibly loud meant my sleep was not good (obviously not the hotels fault but the sound proofing definitely is!).
The Wi-Fi was also down. It was there but nothing- phone, laptop or tablet would or could connect. Signal at the hotel was 2 bars so patchy.
The one plus was the staff. They were friendly and attentive- I just wished the rest of the establishment was as good.
