That we were able to stay together in one self catered space with cooking facilities and a pint of milk waiting in the fridge. The spacious lounge was a bonus and the Christmas Tree was a nice touch.
The welcome.. the host had to go out that evening so left the key for us to collect at the local pub. The communication with him was not particularly polite and very much about what worked for him rather than his guests. There was no wi-fi code at the property and despite two requests from us to the host the wi-fi code didn't arrive so none of our party of 4 guests had wi-fi during the stay.
The kitchen area was grubby, the crockery and cutlery too and there was not much of it to go round! The kitchen area smelt of fried breakfasts that hadn't been cleaned round after. The bedding was really synthetic and worn, the 4th bedroom was being decorated so was separated off using a clothes airer. There was a light fitting hanging down in the hallway and peeling and unfinished bits throughout. The only bathroom for the 4 guests was cramped, not super clean, and the water to the shower wasn't reliably hot. The outside area was much the same with collections of litter by the side of the property. Although ok for us the uneven flight of stone steps up to the property might be a problem for anyone with mobility issues or small children.
Overall, we didn't feel particularly welcomed, the parking away from the accommodation was inconvenient, the whole stay felt like an overnight in a student halls of residence/budget airbnb (not a clean one) and a bit disappointing. I totally appreciate that renovations need to happen from time to time but if that is case then maybe don't accept bookings at the property whilst the renovations are needed/happening.

Great central location and very clean and comfortable .3 large bedrooms with comfy beds and a large living kitchen area..
Jon met us and showed us the building and access for parking down an alley which is fine if you take it slowly.Overall would recommend
Few missing kitchen utensils and the rear access would be difficult if mobility was restricted.Would benefit from an ensuite if it was possible

Great value for money, three large double bedrooms, living room and kitchen well equipped. Free parking outside via a narrow alleyway or cheap car parking nearby. Very interesting building. Owner came to meet us to direct us to the property and he was very friendly and helpful.
Nothing really, especially at the price paid. If you have have a large car the parking would be hard to access, if you have mobility issues then steps might be an issue

The host welcomed us which was great and was happy to help with some local info - the location is really central yet quiet. As regards the apartment; it's quirky in terms of layout, the beds super comfy and shower really powerful.
The onsite parking is a challenge (pay parking was available) - you have to drive down a really really narrow alley which is a team effort. Some aspects of the flat felt great whilst others felt a little tired or worn out, the wifi worked well in the bedrooms but was scratchy in the lounge.

Fantastic central location, very attentive host and plenty of room. It’s a quirky, old property that has been sympathetically renovated. It’s also an upside down layout, with the living area and kitchen upstairs. The apartment’s location is ideal for accessing the Peaks and enjoying what Buxton has to offer. Parking only suitable for a small/mid sized vehicle as access to free parking is tight.
Steps up to the front door may be tricky for someone with mobility issues but it’s worth it when you step into the apartment as the sense of space and calmness is excellent!

Location was great , right in the middle of Buxton , amongst shops and bars .Jon and Stefania our host were very helpful and friendly , Jon even helped us carry our bags from a previous property we’d stayed in the night before to Longden court !! The apartment is lovely and clean , quite warm upstairs where the kitchen /longe is and cooler downstairs where one of the bedrooms is .
Although there is parking , it’s a narrow entrance to manoeuvre a biggish car in , although not impossible !!

This is a very old building that has been renovated and is exactly like the photos. It is situated in the centre of town which makes it a good base for walking and obviously close to all restaurants and shops. Beds were all comfortable and nice towels. Very good shower. Kitchen well equipped.
The parking as said in other reviews is there but I personally wouldn’t want to chance the narrow entrance. Stone steps are worn but good hand rail, I think a handrail on the internal stairs up to the lounge would be beneficial.
Unfortunately we had two incidents that were in my opinion a serious Health and Safety issue, the towel rail in the bathroom was boiling hot so much so that one of our party got a serious burn to her arm. The other was as we were leaving on the last day we were unable to unlock the door, we had been told that it was a funny lock so not to turn the key too many times and on the other days we must have achieved this but obviously trying to release the key on our last evening we must have inadvertently done the dreaded wrong turn. This is the only exit and not being able to get out is a serious concern. I called the owner and it only to 5 minutes for her to arrive and let us out, I told her that obviously the lock wasn’t suitable and I feel sure they will sort it out.

Spacious 3 double bedrooms, and lounge/diner area. Kitchen had cooker/washing machine/dishwasher/ microwave and big fridge freezer.
Comfy new mattresses on bed, although frames a bit squeaky.
Pleasant decor to bedrooms and lounge. TV via wifi only but worked well
Good sized shower & plenty of hot water
leaking boiler causing damp to surrounding area, and musty smell/damp on arrival. Had been leaking for some time without being resolved.
Kitchen waste water downpipes (outside back of property) missing so water free falling down to ground wetting wall.
13 uneven stone steps to get to property but good sturdy hand rail helped.
No handrail for internal stair case.
Cooking equipment minimal and might be pushed to cook from scratch for 6 adults.
Fire alarm not activated. Plastic tab still in place that prevents battery powering the unit.
Bathroom could do with curtain at the window for when using the bath.
Entrance to the car parking area is via very narrow entrance - put your wing mirrors in!

Location very good, close to centre of Buxton and easy for walking into town.
The entrance to the property was through a very narrow passage. To drive close to property this passage was only way in. Wide cars were difficult to drive through. Once parked the cars were not used till leaving. The property is on the second and third floor of building. A number of the steps were worn and slightly slippy. Inside the property the narrow staircase to the living room would benefit from a rail. However, everything else was excellent very well equipped and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Comfy bed and spacious clean accommodation, great shower! Partial nice flooring, great location within 2 mins of the high street.
The fact we spent 6 hours on our motorbikes and then had to wait in our leathers for nearly 2 hours for the owner to turn up. We got to the point where we thought he would be a no show as his phone went repeatedly into voicemail so we started to seek alternative accommodation as it was approaching 7pm. Not only that, but due to our gear we could'nt sit outside as it was too hot, so had no choice but to wait inside at the meeting point. As we were only in Buxton for the one night, this delay in access to the accommodation significantly impacted on our evening. Speaking of the accommadation, not all the windows would open in the bedroom which made it difficult to sleep in the heat, the one bedroom door would'nt close properly and it generally appeared that the property still had some refurbishment to go. The stairs to the front door in particularly need attention as they are hazardous to climb for a abled person.

Lovely and quiet location, peaceful whilst still close to amenities. It was clean, and the beds were comfortable.
First impressions always count. The outside front was covered in big weeds. The shower door fell off, the front door lock jammed. The interior is very tired and needs a revamp. Also the drive up to the property was very narrow. We had a Q5 and it was slow going. This should be made clear when booking.

Location was superb, right in the centre of Buxton, close to all shops, bars and restrauants. The owner gave good comms, for the arrival and meeting place, showed us the apartment. Great service.
Instructions on how to get to the parking facilities was not good and had to wait until we met the owner for instructions. This is a minor irritation and didnt spoil anything of the stay, just commented for positive improvements if any.

Health and safety went out the window from Minute we stood at steps at bottom of property .
Steps up to property were awful
Steps inside property up to longe and kitchen same , no handrail.
The lounge and kitchen were covered in building dust
Builders arrived at 8am on the Sunday and carried on working on property adjoined .
There was rubbish everywhere outside , looked nothing like the photos . If we had booked it for longer than a night then wouldn’t have stayed .
Bedrooms and bathroom were ok .
Having read reviews before I booked I am suprised it’s got good reviews
