Loved the location. Very private and welcoming

The door was locked unexpectedly but eventually resolved.

You will love this place if you read the description carefully before selecting it, as it is is a unique, charming place and accurately described by the owner as being small and up a track, however we hadn't fully appreciated the reality of it's bijou nature and off the beaten bumpy track location until arrival. The views are indeed stunning when not obscured by mist or cloud. The garden looked like a lovely place to sit out in with peace and quiet aplenty. It slopes away down to a stream at the base of the valley and sheep grazing on the lower foothills opposite. This place is really peaceful and much loved but in our opinion, better suited for fit hill walkers than older tourists!

We hadn't picked up on the significance of the kitchenette being a place to prepare cold food only. So although it has a tiny fridge, there is no cooker or sink or taps, you use the bathroom sink for washing up. The stairs up to the bunk room (where the kettle is sited) are half and half treads, so a challenge for less spritely folk especially with luggage or kettle in hand. There is no dedicated space for seating inside the cottage, so the twin beds double up for lounging on, but are very low so not ideal for less agile guests.
