There is superb walking right from the door across National Trust land including the nearby Helvellyn with its famous striding edge! A fantastic location right in the heart of the Lake District, good for holidays throughout the year. Shop 3 miles, pub and restaurant 1.5 miles.

A nice place to have a chilled holiday. The property said it had a secure garden for the dogs. For the average dog that is true, but not for 2 very inquisitive cockerspaniels who decided that a dry stone wall is great to climb!!!. Would definitely recommend a trip on the Ulleswater steamer, a great way to see the lake.

Lovely cottage, comfortable. 10 for local amenities is for the Aira Falls being on the doorstep not because of any local shops/bars this is blissful isolation (5min drive into village or lovely 45min walk along lake). Yes few water pressure issues but not a problem at all. Kids even enjoyed being away from internet & phone signals for the week. Defo on our list for revisit.

Perfect place for a relaxed family holiday with dogs, away from the hustle and bustle. Located next to the famous waterfalls and with amazing hiking up the fell behind and with our own kayak we had only a short distance to go for the perfect launch spot.
Important to take your own provisions as there is no supermarket for miles.
We will definitely return.
