TINY STUDIOS Under the Akropolis -2-

Gute Lage, unkomplizierter Check-In, sauber

Wir haben zu Beginn des Urlaubes eine Nacht im Studio 2 übernachtet und dort war alles super. Auf dem Rückweg jetzt haben wir im Studio 3 übernachtet und das war vergleichsweise kaum zumutbar. Es lag in einem anderen Teil des Gebäudes im Keller und es war die ganze Nacht super laut. Es hat sich so angefühlt, als würden die Autos, Menschen und Roller direkt neben dem Kopfkissen fahren. Für den Preis ok, aber empfehlen würden wir nur Studio Nr. 2!

Wir waren für eine Nacht im Tiny Studio. Es hat eine super zentrale Lage und ist trotzdem nachts schön ruhig. Der Self Check-In war unkompliziert und entspannt.

I know Athens very well and the location was perfectly located. You can't get a much better location than this. You can walk everywhere from this location. You get your key from a lockbox at the street door, and the apartment is in the basement. The room was small, but I would not call it "tiny." It was very adequate for two people and luggage. The AC and heating were excellent. The bathroom is small but was appropriate to this class of apartment. The kitchen was also small, and I didn't use it, but it seemed to have what you needed with a fridge, hotplate, and microwave. The power went out because of construction outside in the street. We called the emergency number and immediately got a call back in 5 minutes. Power was back on 10 minutes later.

I had two items I didn't like. I turned on the electric water heater as instructed and waited an hour, but the water was never really hot. It warmed slightly with the power turned on but the landlord really needs to turn up the temperature on the hot water heater, or you will feel like you are taking a cold shower. The second item is about safety. There is a window that can be an emergency exit in case of a fire or other disaster. In an emergency you can open the window and climb up from the basement to crawl out at street level, except there is a steel screen over the exit to the street. I could not see how to remove the screen to get out in an emergency and I didn't see any instructions in the room for removing the steel screen in an emergency. Instructions should be attached right to the window and there should be a clear and easy way to remove the screen. Finally, because this apartment is located close to the tourism spots there are people outside on the street until 3-4 am and they are making enough noise, we needed ear plugs to sleep. I would consider the noise a routine issue and it should not discourage you from renting as it is reasonable considering its location.

It was in a nice part of Athens to wander about very close to the Akropolis.

It was very very noisy when we were there on a Saturday night. Suitable for people planning to have a very late night out in Athens but not if you want to get some sleep. Also the bathroom door doesn’t shut properly. The bathroom opens directly onto the bedroom.
