One month in Luxembourg

I've stayed for a month and it was a very comfortable decision. I think all the rooms have a kitchen, which is a useful commodity for a longer stay. The host was very kind, allowing me to use the laundry room :) The house is well communicated and the neighborhood is very calm and charming. I would definitely recommend it for a short or longer stay!

Place was very clean and room door could lock as well as the bathroom door. Heating systems in bathroom and room was very nice.

Terrible

The location.

The cleanliness. We found hair in the sink, on the floor of the bathroom and in the bed. Hence, the sheets did not seem very clean and they were very incomfortable, at each movement we would feel the static electricity due to friction. No blinds on the windows, we could see the light of the corridor through the door, we could hear the neighbor snoring through the thin walls, and no other light than a very bright white light that makes us feel like in a hospital. I rarely leave bad revues, but asking 90€ for one night is a scam in my opinion.

Unprofessional, unhelpful and rude communication.

The bathroom and toilet were shared with another room. This wasn't clearly stated on the booking page (so I didn't notice it) and wasn't mentioned at all in any email I received about the reservation. When I discovered this upon arrival, I contacted the landlord. Contact was very difficult, as the landlord can only be reached via WhatsApp messages and wasn't present at the location either. I tried calling, but no one answered. The landlord was unhelpful, rude, and unprofessional in their communication. It was also completely anonymous; I didn't know whether it was a man or a woman, or what their name was. When I indicated that I didn't want to stay if I had to share the bathroom, all I got was a thumbs-up. The landlord's reasoning was clear: he or she already had my money, so didn't care if the guest is happy or not. The landlord then promptly put the room up for rent again and rented it out after my departure. So, double income, because my payment was non-refundable. I understand that there was no alternative for the room with shared bathroom facilities, because the other rooms were reserved. But that's no excuse for rude and unprofessional communication, and not even the slightest effort to find a solution. The communication bothered me the most, even from the very beginning of the booking process. I was never addressed as 'sir', only as 'hello'. When I pointed out the landlord's rude communication, I received no apology, just another thumbs up. Furthermore, it is also necessary that the shared bathroom is mentioned more clearly during the booking process. Additional detail: the landlord refused to speak French and only communicated in English, even though the official languages of Luxembourg are only Luxembourgish, French and German.

My room was comfortable and very clean. The toilet was shared between two rooms, which was fine. The area was quiet and had great bus connections to both the airport and the city center. I really appreciated that they allowed me an early check-in, which made my stay even more convenient.

Pleasant stay with accommodating host despite noises and lack of some basic necessities

Very well-cleaned room and the host truly will try their best to accommodate your needs/very available communication through Whatsapp. For example, they came and cleaned some spots in my room, the kitchen, and the bathroom when I communicated to them. One late night, the main entrance door was locked (not of the host or the accommodation's fault, but guests filling in the wrong password too many times causing the faulty), and the host would drive to the place to open the lock, and it was 2 AM. Everything inside the room looks exactly like in the photos. Furnitures in room feel very new. It feels like a new building almost. Bus stop to everywhere in Luxembourg city is located right outside of the accommodation, making it very easy to explore the city.

Very noisy from the inside, you can hear footsteps, doors closing, and people talking easily from other rooms (especially the room across my room), probably due to thin walls. I'm noise-sensitive so this was not ideal, but noises quiet down in the evenings (also depends if you are lucky with other occupants). The neighborhood itself is very quiet though. It is just the noises from other guests inside the house, which is not really the property's fault. At the same time, noises usually are a part of more affordable guesthouses. There was a large sound of some machine working as well every night, I'm not sure if this is from the bathroom (because my room is next to it) or the kitchen. I stayed there for 3 nights only and was able to sleep well, but the noise was definitely disturbing and not helps a peaceful night of rest after a long day of exploration. So, I would not recommend this room to noise-sensitive people because I'm noise-sensitive myself. No bathroom gels (body wash, shampoo, and hairconditioner are non-existent). The hairdryer is available but shared between rooms so it was a bit inconvenient to get it, but you just need to talk to the host to get the hairdryer.

AVOID STAYING HERE - VERY DIRTY (Pictures attached).

The location was a 25 min walk to the city centre.

This was the worst ever accommodation we have ever seen! Avoid staying here! Pay the extra money to stay in a nicer accommodation. Upon entering the property, we found that it is not a studio as the name suggests but a room with a separate bathroom with a post-it note labelling the bathroom allocated to you. This means that you can not keep any belongings in the bathroom as anyone can access it. The hygiene in the bedroom was non-existent. The bed was unclean with several various length hairs on the bed sheet under the covers. Next to the bed, the wall is filthy with black dripping stains and black spots across the whole wall and many marks along the wall tiles. The stove in the room was dirty with crusty rings around where a pan should be placed so this was evidently not cleaned. Similarly, the fridge had finger smears across the shelving. When we messaged the owner to politely ask for a room change due to the inhabitable room circumstance, the owner replied with asking us to leave. The owner also said that they had personally been to review that room a few hours before and said that the room is clean. See for yourself the pictures showing a very dirty room.

Smell of bed sheets made our stay not pleasant. Next day I was very sleepy and couldn’t enjoy the city.

Nice place, very nice neighbourhood

The bed sheets smell horribly, like it was old and people were sweating in it for many many times. I think even if you wash it, the smell will stay. So I recommend to ask the host to change it if you also have this problem. It really messed up our stay and I couldn’t sleep because of this smell.

Wonderful place

Everything was perfect and i'd really appreciated my stay. The house is close to downtown, you can reach it with a pleasant walk or by bus (the bus stop is in front to the home). The room is a light place, parquet everywhere and a new and clean bathroom. I'm sure I'll return!

Impudent owner sending threating message, for complaints over false advertising a room in a shared house with an allocat

The owner sent a threatening private message on 2am after the complaint I made to Booking, while I was still in their property. - It is not a studio, it is a room in a shared house with an allocated toilet that doesn’t lock from the outside so you cannot leave things in as anyone can get in. On your trip from the room to the bathroom you might encounter other tenants coming down from the stairs or new ones that go in as the room door is exactly in front of the main entrance. - One of the bathroom walls was half covered in mold. - The room was not clean, spider webs next to the bed, the duvet cover was dirty and there was a bad smell. While initially I contacted the owner, they blamed Booking and said I should contact them which I did. When I reported all these to Booking.com with pictures and proof I received the threatening message by the owner trying to intimidate me, stating that I am slandering them, they will not forget and they will do his best to get what I deserve. The impudence of this owner is beyond words.

Good with room for improvement

Everything was functioning properly. Good connections and location (bus very near but also by food just fine). Furniture was in good conditions, modern kitchen.

The bathroom is not in the room so that we needed to go through the main corridor to reach it. As this, it is not really an appartment but a room with kitchen. But still each bathroom is just for a room so that it is still just one's own. The kitchen is poorly equipped. If you want to cook, you really need to buy every single ingredient (!)

Easy, comfortable, clean

It was easy to access and clean. The kitchenette helped to save money by not spending too much. There’s a bus stop right outside that can get you to the town center. The owners were kind and responded to my messages quickly.

I was staying in room 103 and found it a bit odd that my bathroom was outside of the room. Not a huge issue, just something to be aware of.

Si nous avions séjourné plus longtemps, je pense que nous aurions préféré avoir un écran ou radio et un peu plus de luminosité, cependant, nous concernant, pour une nuit, cela était amplement suffisant !

Sehr kleines Studio, das aber mit allem notwendigen ausgestattet ist. Gute Lage, absolut geeignet für einen Kurzurlaub . Alles war sauber und aufgeräumt.

Das Studio hat keine richtige Heizung, sondern nur einen kleinen elektrischen Heizlüfter. Schaltet man ihn aus Sicherheitsgründen über Nacht aus, wird es in der Wohnung unglaublich kalt. Das Bettzeug ist eher eine dünne Sommerdecke und für winterliche Temperaturen nicht geeignet.. Das Bett selbst ist für 2 Personen knapp bemessen

Horrible souvenir du séjour - Belles photos de l'hébergement qui ne reflètent pas la réalité

Nous avons passe un très mauvais week end car il y avait certes une cafetière mais sans tasse à café et un coin cuisine mais sans couvert. Il faisait très froid, la température a atteint -3°. Il y avait qu'un petit radiateur non adapté à la surface de la pièce qui ne réchauffait clairement pas suffisamment la pièce et pour guise de linge de lit qu'une seule couette très fine sans drap. Le comble c'est la saleté du lit, dont le nettoyage n'a clairement pas été effectué avant notre arrivée car il y avait des cheveux et auréoles sur le lit. J'ai dû dormir avec mes vêtements et manteau. Il y avait également une table et 2 chaises mais une d'entre elle était inutilisable autrement on aurait vite fait bloquer la circulation dans toute la chambre soit l'unique pièce à vivre car dans les faits le lit est positionné dans l'autre sens et non tel dans la photo. Aucun sens du service client : totalement absent. La chambre a été optimisée de sorte à gagner de l'argent sur le dos des clients avec une qualité de service rendu médiocre. Un énorme effort doit être fait sur la propreté du lit, des équipements nécessaires, chauffage et linge nécessaires pour garantir de passer un bon week end
