A masterclass in how NOT to host guests
The day we left
I would love to say my stay in Ghent was memorable because of the accommodation, but unfortunately, the only lasting memories I have are quite... dusty. If you are looking for a place where cleanliness is a purely abstract concept and basic comfort is considered an unnecessary luxury, you’ve found your match.
A few "highlights" of the stay:
• The Great Pillow Shortage: I kindly requested an extra pillow per guest before arrival. The response? They simply didn't have any more in the entire building. Apparently, running a guesthouse with spare pillows is a logistical challenge far beyond this management’s reach.
• Bespoke Biological Decor: For those who enjoy collecting DNA samples from strangers, the blankets are a treat—they came with a generous selection of hair and lint from previous guests included in the price.
• Innovative Engineering: I must applaud the creative genius behind the kitchen extractor fan. Instead of venting outside, it thoughtfully channels all the cooking fumes directly onto the bed. It’s perfect if you enjoy sleeping in the lingering aroma of your morning toast.
• The Dust Observatory: After climbing the incredibly steep stairs (a wonderful cardio workout, I must admit), the view from above the lamps reveals a literal "sea of dust." It is such a thick, established layer that it probably deserves its own postcode by now.
• Extreme Sustainability: Providing exactly one bin bag and the same set of towels for a five-day stay is a lesson in ecology I didn't ask for, but the management insisted on teaching me anyway.
In short: The blatant lack of respect for guests is almost impressive. If the goal was to make me feel like an unwelcome intruder rather than a paying customer, congratulations—you succeeded with flying colors. I am certain Ghent has much cleaner options with far better management. Avoid.

Mooi en goed verzorgd appartement. Hadden fietsen geregeld zodat we makkelijj ons door het centrum konden verplaatsen. Een erg leuk weekend gehad
Op de site was er een foto met bad bij het appartement. Deze gemist en een schuifdeur ofzo bij toilet en badruimte is geen overbodige luxe
