Opportunity to stay in an Art Nouveau flat that is largely preserved in original. Spacious flat with two rooms and a large kitchen. The owner provides a fully functional kitchen. Excellent location in the middle of the new city.
The instructions for getting the keys could be improved. The entrance to the apartment is from the backyard (go through the doorway on Blaumana iela) but was not mentioned. The all over carpets have collected a lot of dirt and dust over the years.

I was pleasantly surprised by the standard of both the building and my room.
The main road is very close by and can be noisy when opening a window.

Excellent communication with the owner, including helpful location photos (might have been tricky to find otherwise). The free chocolates on arrival were a nice touch. Good location, about 15minutes or so from the station and the old town, there are supermarkets and restaurants in the area.
Both the apartment and - especially - the building are run down. In fairness, this is relatively low priced accommodation.
