A Grand American Adventure in Oranmore We came all the way from America, which means we arrived in Ireland with great expectations, a healthy appreciation for directions, and perhaps a slightly unreasonable amount of luggage. Thankfully, finding this house in Oranmore was wonderfully easy, and the drive from Dublin was itself a pleasure—green countryside, beautiful roads, and that unmistakable feeling that we had finally arrived somewhere very far from home. The house was perfect for our family of five adults and one child. There was plenty of room for everyone to be comfortable, and the property was clean, welcoming, and beautifully situated. Oranmore was a wonderful home base, with shops close by and the castle nearby to remind us that apparently some people in Ireland have been living rather grandly for quite a long time. The owner and property manager were also fantastic. They were easy to reach, friendly, and very helpful whenever we had a question. For Americans navigating a new country, having someone readily available when our brains inevitably produced the occasional “Wait…how does this work?” was very reassuring. We had a wonderful family stay and loved the area. There was something especially lovely about coming home after exploring and settling into a comfortable house together, telling stories about the day and feeling, even briefly, like we belonged in this beautiful corner of Ireland. We would absolutely come back with our family. In fact, if Ireland has taught us anything, it is that we should probably stop pretending one visit is enough.

La casa nel suo insieme si è dimostrata estremamente comoda, spaziosa e più che adeguata alla mia numerosa famiglia. La posizione si è dimostrata buona sia per esplorare la zona di Galway, che più a sud verso le scogliere di Moher che anche andare verso il Connemara. Vicino ad un centro abitato con tutti i servizi, a pochi minuti da Galway.

Spacious house and very tidy. We loved it cuz it worked out perfect for our trip.

There’s no microwave in the house is the only improvement we could say.

Clean, spacious, comfortable home. Appreciated the snacks, tea and milk that Claire left for us.

Couldn’t figure out how to work main shower. However shower in the twin bedroom was awesome.
