We liked everything, no complaints at all. The hosts were excellent, they were very helpful, friendly and looked after us very well. The cottage is lovely, plenty of space and clean.

Location is excellent, you definitely need a car.
Good facilities, plenty of crockery, cutlery and cooking equipment.
Comfortable beds and very efficient heating if it gets cold
Currently still no WiFi, although this wasn’t the end of the world as had reasonably good phone coverage.

Set in a lovely location, overlooking Lough Mask, Mullach Cottage has everything you need for a fabulous family getaway. This nice, roomy, comfortable 3 bedroom 3 bath cottage has what you need to prepare meals, do your laundry, barbecue...
Best of all , my wonderful hostess, Judy welcomed me with tea and scones, checked in regularly (I'm a solo traveler) helped me through some very frustrating car issues and gave me great tips on things to see in the area. Tourmakeady is a great location for exploring:
Cong, Clifden, Kylemore Abbey, Croagh Patrick, Westport, Ballintubber Abbey - all in the area. I like to get off the beaten path, so for me it was perfect.
This is not meant as a negative. It is information that will help you determine if Mullach Cottage is right for you If you want night life, galleries, restaurants and souvenir shops, this isn't the place for you.
A car is absolutely essential. Nerves of steel would help. You will be sharing narrow roads with both vehicles and sheep.
