About this house rental

Nestled in a peaceful and scenic countryside setting just 3 km from the village of Easkey, this spacious and welcoming cottage offers the perfect balance of rural tranquility and easy access to the coast. Set along quiet country roads and surrounded by natural beauty, it’s an ideal retreat for families, outdoor enthusiasts, surfers, anglers, and golfers alike.

The cottage sits within a large private garden, providing plenty of space, privacy, and tranquility. Inside, the home is bright, comfortable, and well-equipped, with four bedrooms and everything needed for a relaxing stay. Guests can enjoy reliable Wi-Fi (suitable for remote work), a smart TV with Irish and UK channels, as well as books, board games, and toys for younger guests—making it a true home away from home in every season. Energy-efficient infrared ceiling heating ensures year-round comfort.

While a car is useful for exploring the Wild Atlantic Way, it isn’t essential. Easkey village offers bike rentals, regular bus service via Sligo, and even a free weekend shuttle from the village pub to the cottage—adding to the relaxed, local charm.

Easkey is renowned for its vibrant coastal lifestyle. Easkey Bay is internationally known for its consistent surf and has hosted major surf and canoe championships, making the area a magnet for water sports enthusiasts. The local river and coastline also offer excellent fishing opportunities, ranging from salmon and sea trout to shore and sea angling along the Atlantic.

Golfers are particularly well catered for, with several of Ireland’s finest links courses within easy reach, including County Sligo Golf Club, Strandhill Golf Club, and Enniscrone Golf Club, all offering dramatic coastal scenery and championship-level play.

Whether you’re looking for a peaceful family vacation, an active surfing or fishing trip, or a golf getaway on Ireland’s Atlantic coast, this charming cottage near Easkey offers an unforgettable base in one of the country’s most unspoiled regions.

It was a lovely property in a beautiful and tranquil spot. It had absolutely everything we could have needed, so would have been perfect for an extended stay. We were only able to spend a short break there, which was a shame. Patricia was an excellent host who communicated well with us and made sure we were comfortable. We would definitely choose this property if we manage to get back to this part of Ireland.
