Perhaps 2 double beds in the room was a bit of a squash. We could have done with a second chair instead and rubbish bin in the room

A Practical and Convenient Stay in Strandhill

Gala House Strandhill is a decent option for a short stay, offering a practical and convenient base for exploring the area. Its location is a major plus—situated right above the Gala store, it’s just a short 500-meter walk to the beautiful Strandhill beach and all the local amenities. The host was very responsive to our messages and was kind enough to take our suitcases before the official check-in time, which was a huge help. We had also booked and paid for an early check-in option, but wasn't able and no needed to use it. The room we stayed in was clean and well-maintained, and while not brand new, it was comfortable for our short visit. The bed and pillows were comfy, and it provided a small but sufficient amount of space for two people. Toiletries and two towels were also provided. It was a hot day when we checked in, so the room was quite warm, and we kept the windows open during the night. We were able to hear people in other rooms and walking around, but it was not overly disturbing and didn't impact our sleep.

Temperature and bit of noise. But overall, if you're looking for a simple, no-frills place to stay with a great location and a responsive host, Gala House Strandhill is a solid choice.

we liked the cleanliness of the beds and the location

the bathroom was not very clean there was trash in the basket next to another client's toilet hair on the baseboard and the shower side is clogged you can't take a shower without water spilling out of the shower stall we put a towel on the floor to contain the water

The generator under my bedroom window room 4 started at 1 am and continued till I.20 I called the owner asked him to switch it off. He said this was not possible it was essential for the shop. he eventually gave me another room Problems with keys etc

One night stay in Strandhill

Good location, a short walk to beach and centre. Parking at the back was handy. The shower was good and the beds were clean and comfy.

Didn't realise it was above the Gala shop, no signage but we asked in the shop how to get in. Would have preferred a key to room door rather than another code to press in, maybe it's more secure?? Basic toileteries provided so l d recommend bringing your own but a good soap dispenser provided to wash your hands.

We were uncomfortable when the owner entered our bedroom while we were lying in bed in the morning while he was cleanimg the other rooms. My friend opened the door and he just walked into the started chatting to us in the bedroom pre check out

Welcome Home

The Gala House felt like “coming home”. I was well looked after and the owners went above and beyond to make me feel welcome. The room had a stunning view of Knocknarea, which has often filled my memories and made me long to go back to County Sligo. I was exhausted after a long travel day and couldn’t wait to go to bed. I slept so well and woke up feeling much better. (I was given sage advice from the owner on how to beating jet lag and it worked!) The Gala house was clean, cosy and comfortable. Walking down to the beach is quick and easy and the town has lots of great choices for food and drinks. I hope to return soon. Thank You everyone at Gala House!

Cozy,clean and well tidy room,in perfect location close the Beach, comfortable bed ,all stuffs were so clean and fresh and work well,and the owner was so nice and kind.Highly recommend the price is worth it, definitely will go there again

The location was great and quiet, room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. Very handy to have a shop on the ground floor.

My only complaint is that one of the towels in the bathroom appeared to be dirty. There was a large white blotche on it that I initially thought was a bleach stain but upon further inspection, it appeared to be toothpaste or something similar. We did not shower so did not use the towels.
