Casa Sofia Santo Spirito

We had such an amazing time staying at this apartment! Iacopo met with us at check-in and walked us through all the details of the apartment - he has put a lot of thought and design into each detail. The apartment was very clean, comfortable, and provided all the necessary amenities. We loved hanging out in the terrace, and the location was perfect. There’s everything you need down the street and essentially a 15 min walk to everything else. The hosts were very accommodating and responsive the entire time. Highly recommend!!

Minor thing: some street noises at night - but could not hear in bedrooms.

The hosts are super friendly and will do their best to make sure you have anything you need. Beds were super comfortable memory foam mattreses. The apartment is large. AC works great. Controls separate for each room. Kitchen well equipped for cooking. Could use a small paring knife and some real wine glasses. All the drinking cups were plastic except coffe mugs. One of the knobs on the stove kept falling off. We were missing a spatula and they brought us 2 new ones the following day. Bathroom . Nice big bath towels,bathrobes. Lots of hot water and good water pressure. It is pretty small. Fully stocked with all soap you need for dishwashing ,hand soap,laundy,shower gel, shampoo and conditioner. The furniture in the living room was very comfortable for sitting. Great WiFi. This apartment would be great for a family. It could work for 2 couples as well but the bathroom size could be a problem for 4 people sharing. If you want a large and comfortable apartment , this is a good choice. Florence is way overcrowded now. I can see why the marchers on Liberation Day were shouting "tourists go home" . Too many people on the sidewalks and streets Weekends see roving bands of drunk bachelorette parties.Many large tour groups of 40 plus people. This was our 5th and likely last time we will visit.

NOISY night and day. It is located at the intersection of 2 busy streets. The double paned windows help but there is still a lot of noise ,especially on weekends. The smaller bedroom faces the street and unless you are a deep sleeper, you will likely need earplugs. The larger bedroom is more quiet and sleeping is no problem. Just so you know, there are 62 steps up to the apartment. If you have mobility issues or large luggage, this may not be a good choice for you. We considered the stairs a good way to walk off the gelato.

This is an elegant apartment with subtle, pleasant lighting and underfloor heating, which is easily adjusted. Shower was good, with consistent temperature. The host met us at the door and showed us around the spacious main living room/kitchen, 2 bedrooms and roof terrace. There are also nicely illustrated art books on the shelves. The large TV gives English speakers CNN, France 24 and other channels to catch up with news, and the usual Netflix etc. Location is perfect, 15 minutes walk to the Uffizi, 5 minutes to Pitti Palace.

The dishwasher was a little hard to figure out if you want to wash a lot of plates, most of the dividers had been flattened to make space for pots and frying pans.
