Apartment Desenzanino

We have just returned from a week here and had a lovely time. Thank you to our host Ali who went above and beyond helping us prior to and during our stay. We really appreciated this and it was lovely to meet you! He even picked us up from desenzano station and organised a taxi for our return as local taxis for short journeys are none existent. We organised a later checkout on our last day which was really helpful and much needed. Location: 10/10 - Beach and lake is across the road, dog friendly, stunning views, quiet location. Very quiet building, only saw one other person in the entire week. There’s a mini market down the road, Aldi is about 25 min walk but other supermarkets are much further and you’d need a car. We used a grocery delivery service Glovo (we shopped at Pennys) Places to go in desenzano: the castle, the marina, and catch the ferry to Sirmione for about €7 return. The ferry gets busy and you don’t always get on and have to wait for another. Large queues also, so we only did the ferry once for this reason. The station is about 25-30 min walk and slightly uphill but once you are there it is easy to get the train to Verona (only 2 stops) 1 stop to peschiera and a direct bus to Salo. Desenzano is really nice to wander around the streets and promenade and has a nice vibe. People are friendly and lots of places to cross the road. The restaurant across the road La Perla has nice food, drinks, music and a beach bar area. The lake is lovely to swim in (buy some beach shoes as it is rocky and hurts your feet) and the ducks swim around you. There’s also the odd stork fishing for its dinner! Apartment: lift access is a bonus, secure building (gated access with key only) really comfortable and spacious with air con in multiple rooms. TV has Netflix and other streaming services you can use. Comfortable bed with balcony in the master bedroom (we didn’t use this one) and a balcony facing the front which was lovely and sunny for eating / drinking coffee.

This is by no means a criticism as we loved our stay and would love to return, but a few things would have made our stay a bit easier: A few tea towels - we ended up buying one as could only find kitchen roll. We used one of the bathroom hand towels until we bought one. Dustpan / mop for sweeping up crumbs or spills. I think the cleaner brings things after check out as we couldn’t find things to use only a brush for the kitchen. A few spare towels and sheets would be useful especially if staying for a week, and maybe a throw/ blanket for the sofa but we used the sheet from the spare bed when we needed to :)

Die Wohnung ist in einer privaten Villa, ca 100m vom Strand Desenzanino, super zentral und sehr ruhig. Die Ausstattung ist gut, sie ist modern und chic eingerichtet, kein Schnickschnack, klare Linien, grosszügige Raumgestaltung. Alles hat funktioniert, alles war super ordentlich und sauber. Ich war begeistert von den 3 (!) Balkonen, jedes Schlafzimmer hatte einen ( jeweils Blick auf die Nachbarvilla mit Garten und ruhig ) plus der grosse vor dem Wohnzimmer mit Blick auf Pinienbäume und den See - mein absolutes Highlight. Ich habe mich sehr wohl und sicher gefühlt und würde gerne wieder kommen.

für längere Aufenthalte wäre ein Geschirrspüler/Waschmaschine schön - muss aber nicht sein.

beaucoup de points inadmissibles: une mini cafetière pas du tout pratique. Une climatisation ancienne mobile qui faisait beaucoup de bruit. Une installation électrique défaillante qui disjonctait lorsque on mettait deux appareils en route . Pour remettre le courant il fallait aller sur la rue et être équipé d'une pince pour ouvrir le coffret électrique. Inadmissible pour ce prix malgré une résidence ancienne mais de bonne qualité. Manque de vaisselle flagrant pour 4 personnes.

Electricité , clim, plus de vaisselle, une cafetière digne de ce nom. Le seul point positif c'est l'accueil sympathique de la personne qui nous a remis les clés mais cela ne suffit pas. On aurait du être dédommagés pour le manque de service
