Cooll Camping Canterbury

Tents were a very pleasant surprise. Comfortable beds, a little fridge and plenty of crockery and cutlery. Even a light in one tent. Very warm welcome from Connie with info on local pubs etc (Duke William in Ickham was excellent).

At age 76 this was my first experience of camping so the trudge to the toilets (which were quite OK) was a bit of task. But I guess that's par for the course. The Shower was OK but in a bit of a primitive shed. We decided not to use it as it was a bit grubby - but that's the fault of the other campers not the owner!

Great location, clean and well equipped bell tent

On arrival we was greeted by the host who showed us to our tent and showed us round. She brought us extra games to keep our son entertained. We had a 5 chairs, picnic bench, bbq and fire pit provided to use. Map of local things to do and where to eat and also cutlery cups plates provided as well. When we had our bonfire the owner came over and gave us big marshmallows on sticks to roast over the bonfire. Nothing was too much and we were made to feel so welcome. The shower and w/c were clean and the beds were the most comfortable beds we have ever slept in and so so warm when the temperature dropped in the night. The fairy lights around the tent that came on at 9pm and go off at midnight were the perfect icing on the cake. The site provides bell tents and pitches for motorhomes and self tenting too Will definitely come back and the site is highly recommended- words can’t describe how wonderful this place is.
