Lovely cottage stay

The cabin was perfect for our visit exploring the Northland. We went in a different direction each day and returned to the serene cottage setting surrounded by flowerbeds and fields. The cottage itself was very clean, nicely decorated and appointed with everything we needed for our 5 night stay. Gordon, the owner, lives next door and checked in with us to be sure we had everthing we needed. We highly recommend a stay at Oak Lodge. We will definately stay again during our next visit north.

Gordon is really nice and funny. We had a great time at the lodge. There is a lot to do (games, watching cows and stars)

Great value comfortable accommodation

Well appointed accommodation with all facilities needed for a comfortable stay. Extra touches were well received - filtered water, coffee and tea, etc.

There's next to nothing to complain about and requires me to be super picky to come up with anything. SKY is just free to air options so that was not great, but the free WiFi supported streaming the sport off the laptop, so worked around it there.

This small house is an absolute gem! I loved my stay here and was sad that it was only for one night. The hosts have made a perfect little house, which has everything you might need and a lovely garden. 100% recommended. ❤️

Our stay in Taheke

It was very clean, welcoming and comfortable. Plenty of facilities including a washing machine. We bought frozen fish in nearby Rawene and made a very nice meal using the oven. Our room was warm and very peaceful and quiet in the countryside. We were warmly welcomed by Gordon, our host who explained the essentials of country living. Being country folk ourselves. We understood water wise practices. We were pleased we chose Oak Lodge.

Beautiful, close to nature, serene and peaceful. Great place to unwind and rejuvenate

We loved the location of the Oak Lodge. It lies halfway between Rawene and Kaikohe. The location is perfect if you wish for a serene or peaceful getaway from the city life. The Oak lodge was beautifully set up and has most of everything you need. Gordan, the host, ensured we had butter, bread, milk and water and cereal ready for us at the lodge. At night time, there were fairy lights which was very beautiful and helpful when returning home af night, allowed us to navigate easier

The cottage is bigger than I thought it would be and has a lovely feel to it, nice and quiet

Breakfast was great, nice bread and think the jam was home made, it was delicious! Nice location, only 15 minutes from kaikohe to get dinner and even though it’s not far from the main road there is no road noise.

All in all, we had a very pleasant stay and will choose this site again if we go back to the area.

Place was in a secluded farming area about 14km from the nearby town of Kaikohe. very quiet and serene whilst we were there. Host contacted us before arrival to see if we needed milk bread or breakfast things and then personally met us on our arrival and explained set up. Facility had everything we required, hot plates mini oven, microwave etc. good range of cereals as well as coffees and teas. Good shower. There were board games available for guests and good Wi-Fi as well as television.

The stay there was amazing , it felt like home with a touch of extra love and care. With the surroundings mesmerising and the night was beautiful to sit outside with a beautiful lit garden was truly bliss.

Perfect quiet getaway, well equipped beautiful home

Peaceful and beautiful. House was perfect with everything we needed, fully equipped kitchen. Nice living area, good bathroom and cosy bed. Gordon and his wife even put up Christmas decorations for us and brought us a Christmas pudding! The extra touches really made a difference. Gordon was a fantastic host really helpful and considerate. Would definitely stay again
