The Granary

Heerlijke bedden en hotelkwaliteit beddengoed, dicht bij Lynton en Lynmouth, prima ruimtes voor 2 nachten. In de basis ok. Tip voor anderen: routebeschrijving blijft te beperkt ondanks eerdere reviews hierover, ga vanaf Lynton/Barbrook voorbij de Manor House/vakantie resort meteen naar links op de west lyn road. Er staan geen bordjes en daardoor niet heel duidelijk.

Het was geen heel dure overnachting en daardoor prima voor 2 nachten, maar ik zou er niet weer komen als gezin en niet voor langere tijd. We hadden geluk dat we vanwege het mooie weer veel erop uit konden maar bij slecht weer zit je wel alleen op een zolder met nauwelijks uitzicht. In de basis prima, maar met wat meer aandacht zou het echt fijner zijn. Een aantal dingen kapot (douchekop valt telkens naar beneden, rolgordijn in grote slaapkamer kapot, oven en tv werkten niet) en er zaten hondenharen op de bank en op de slaapkussens. Omdat we er maar 2 nachten waren heb ik hierover geen contact opgenomen. Ook de tuin kan aantrekkelijker, nu ga je er echt niet zitten. Foto's komen niet echt overeen vwb de tuin. Andere vertrekken/accomodaties die aangrenzend zijn aan de binnentuin zitten vol rommel en er staan kapotte auto's op het terrein, niet heel uitnodigend.

Steep stairs not mentioned in listing. Quite difficult to find , especially in an internet black spot. Maybe some pictures of the lane and the gate we had to open to access the property.

Easy communication with the host with easy directions to follow to get to The Granary. Well-furnished and clean apartment, comfortable lounge and comfortable beds.

Access into the property was via an access road to a cow shed, through a gate to get to the parking. It is extremely muddy and you have to get out of the car to open the gate, which involves negotiating the mud. A bad night's sleep was had by all because the latches on the bedroom and bathroom doors were extremely creaky, and so was the floor, resulting in the whole household waking up every time someone went to the bathroom in the middle of the night. A bit of oiling or changing out the latches to regular door handles would fix some of the problem. A good night's rest is one of the most important things for me at an accommodation, therefore I can't rate this place highly.
