The Granary

Lovely quiet spot. Well equipped kitchen.

Steep stairs not mentioned in listing. Quite difficult to find , especially in an internet black spot. Maybe some pictures of the lane and the gate we had to open to access the property.

Die Lage war eigentlich recht schön. Allerdings ließ die Außenanlage zu wünschen übrig. Die eingestellten Fotos waren wohl aus früheren Jahren und sind im Status quo ein Fake. Die direkte Zufahrt zum Haus muss man auch erst mal suchen.

Die Außenanlage ist runtergekommen und war nicht gerade einladend, wie es die Fotos vermittelten. Die Fenster ließen sich nicht richtig öffnen und der Ausblick auf das Meer war nur von einem Fenster möglich. Die Gastgeber haben wir nicht kennengelernt und somit gab es auch keinerlei Absprache.

First off the most incredible thing about this property is the pristine silence. My son has autism and is challenged by sound, but here he was at peace. The second really great thing is the location. It is well situated and there are so many walks with outstanding and truly unspoiled beauty all within 15 -20 minutes.

Easy communication with the host with easy directions to follow to get to The Granary. Well-furnished and clean apartment, comfortable lounge and comfortable beds.

Access into the property was via an access road to a cow shed, through a gate to get to the parking. It is extremely muddy and you have to get out of the car to open the gate, which involves negotiating the mud. A bad night's sleep was had by all because the latches on the bedroom and bathroom doors were extremely creaky, and so was the floor, resulting in the whole household waking up every time someone went to the bathroom in the middle of the night. A bit of oiling or changing out the latches to regular door handles would fix some of the problem. A good night's rest is one of the most important things for me at an accommodation, therefore I can't rate this place highly.
